Because PlayStation has always been considered the #1 gaming platform? Hell, the PS3 caught up, and [i]slightly surpassed[/i] the Xbox 360, which was both cheaper, and launched first.

Noooooo I had a PS3 (currently own a ps4) but that is just wrong. Xbox had the superior Ui, online network, and social features but I wanted to stick with the PlayStation because I felt that the xbone took 2 steps backwards

The Xbone is just fat and ugly. It's more of an entertainment (media) console rather than a gaming console.
