INSANE NEW NINE THEORY MUST READ!

Thanks to Ghostspartann55 for help on this theory I know it's long but it is worth the read. So I have been looking at the Nine lately, and I was reading the grimoire when something popped in my head. I approached the grimoire passage differently, and saw the descriptions of the Nine as separate ideas or beings, not all describing the same thing like most people think. I believe the Nine is actually a term for the major powers in the destiny universe, and each has proof. Here is the grimoire before we get started. Ghost Fragment: Legend 2 1:The Nine are survivors of the cis-Jovian colonies who made a compact with an alien force to ensure their own survival. 2:The Nine are deep-orbit warminds who weathered the Collapse in hardened stealth platforms. 3:The Nine are ancient leviathan intelligences from the seas of Europa or the hydrocarbon pits of Titan. 4:The Nine arrived in a mysterious transmission from the direction of the Corona-Borealis supercluster. 5:The Nine are the firstborn Awoken and their minds now race down the field lines of the Jupiter-Io flux tube. 6:The Nine are Ghosts who pierced the Deep Black without a ship and meditated on the hissing silence of the heliopause. 7:The Nine are the aspects of the Darkness, broken by the Traveler's rebuke, working to destroy us from within. 8:The Nine is a viral language of pure meaning. 9:The Nine are the shadows left by the annihilation of a transcendent shape, burned into the weft of what is." Notice there are NINE descriptions, for what I believe could be NINE species or beings that make up the NINE. I believe that the Nine aren't so much a group but is a term for the species/ influential powers in our galaxy/ destiny universe. Here they are below. 1. (THE HIVE)This first one clearly seems to be the Hive. They made a deal with an alien species(the worms) to ensure their survival. The worms would give The Hive power, in turn feeding off them like a parasite. The cis could be a reference to the "god wave" in the book of sorrows that almost wiped them out, or the event which trapped the hive on the fundament, their home before finding and getting power from the worms. 2. (WARMINDS)Obviously deep orbit warminds mean the robotic AI's that include Rasputin, Charlemaine, etc. They survived the collapse through their "stealth platforms" and are still now a prominent figure in destiny. 3.(LEVIATHAN) This third one is a bit more tricky, but after TTK makes more sense. In the books of sorrow, the hive live on a gas planet called the Fundament. Aurash(Oryx) and her sisters venture into their planet in a ship meant to fly in the gas planet, and meet the leviathan. Not much description is giving but it is ancient and wise. In this verse it says the leviathan is ancient, and in this moment in the book of sorrows where they meet it is thousands of years ago, before the hive were the powerful darkness worshipping race they are now. It also states they "swim" in the seas of Europa and hydrocarbon pits like they "swam" on the gas giant in the book of sorrows. 4. (CABAL)This next one points heavily to the Cabal. The word arrives is key, as it implies they came to us from somewhere. Well the Cabal came to us from their distant empire far away. It seems the signal is of their fleet's arrival, and the Corona where they first arrived. 5.(AWOKEN/ JOVIANS) I believe this could be the awoken, as stated in the name. It could also be the Jovians, as they are believed to be similar to the awoken, but have gone further from earth. It is possible they were the first to become "awoken" and obviously have a part in the games lore. 6.(VEX) in this passage it states they arrived without a ship. The vex are the only race who don't need ships, being that they warp through reality and time. The heliopause is a complicated space term, and it seems the Vex may study it or draw power from it, but that last part is guesswork. 7 (FALLEN) This next passage points strongly to the fallen. They seem to be literal evil, respecting the darkness for its power, instead of using it. So not the darkness, but an aspect of it. The traveler also used to belong to the fallen, but then left them, explaining the rebuke part. The fallen are at our walls trying to destroy us from within, which could also reference the HoW betrayal, where we trusted them and they betrayed us. 8. (?) This one is strange and I have literally no clue. Help appreciated 9.(AHAMKARA) The Ahamkara could easily be here. The are left over from the annihilation, as they were hunted down to "extinction". Also they seem to be transcendent, as they seemed to have survived through bones and scales, projecting their thoughts without bodies. This strange power of theirs is beyond us and are capabilities, being transcendent. The last part"burned in the weft that is" is strange, but it implies they could be tied to reality and some strange way. Conclusion: After looking at Nine grimoire I have found that there are Nine descriptions which fit the nine most evident powers in the Destiny Universe. The Nine are not a group but a collective term for the races in destiny. Above is evidence for each one, that match surprisingly well. Xurs role is still mystery, and the overall importance of the term "Nine" is beyond me, but feel free for suggestions. Thanks and Bump of you feel this theory could be right or important, or if you liked the read. Have a good day! - Bathhouse3111 and Ghostspartann55 EDIT: Thanks everyone for your help and feedback! I love hearing your ideas, they really help. Mom getting a lot of people saying 7 isn't the fallen, and that is probably true. It was the only one that even remotely fit fallen, so I put it there. A lot of people 7 Eris could have to do with 7, and I like that but don't know how to tie it in.

Well done, you obviously put a lot of thought into this theory and I completely agree that the Nine are not as most people assume. My personal theory is that they are compromised of different species and figures of power. Unfortunately, you have a few holes in some of your theories. For one, the Hive cannot be # 1 for a single reason. The word "Jovian". Jovian, if using it as descriptive, refers to a Roman emperor and also refers to the 4 gas giants. The pre phrase of "cis" refers to a scientific definition having to do with the theory of reality. Honestly, I believe that the cis-Jovian colony they refer to are the Awoken. And the pact they made is with the Fallen, or more specifically, The House of Wolves. Remember how Ghost said "no one knows [how the Awoken survived]"? And the Grim makes mention to making a compact with an Alien race for their own survival. Totally the Fallen. Plus they do fit into the definition of cis Jovian. And I don't believe that the Vex are one of the Nine, at least from your definition. You must remember how the Vex became akin to warriors. Because of the Hive. They recognized the Hive's power before the Traveler's, and they want to become more powerful so they mock the Hive. As for the definition, I believe it's a character or type of character we have yet to meet. Only because it talks about them being Ghosts. And as for the definition pertaining to your theory of the Fallen, this is an unconfirmed theory but... It's totally Oryx and the Taken/Hive. Aspects of the Darkness, Oryx is closer to the Darkness than anything mentioned in the Grim so far. Broken by the Traveler's rebuke. The Traveler visited their planet, Fundament, and created the God wave to destroy them. But they survived and are pissed. Working to destroy it from within... Looking at you, Eris Morn. Otherwise some pretty substantial theories. Just trying to help! Edit: just to clarify. I have one, weak theory on #8. A viral language of pure meaning. This is the definition of a language. To convey meaning. But this is a language that conveys its message without the barriers of translation, misunderstanding, or misinterpretation. The closet I can think to of this is whatever the Darkness or Traveler speak. Remember how Oryx spoke to us? HOW DOES HE KNOW ENGLISH?!? Simple, he doesn't. He never truly "speaks" to us as we would understand it. He can communicate telepathically. And where did he learn this? I assume from the Darkness. Or he stole it from an enemy race he destroyed long ago. Since I have no data supporting either of these theories, I'm going to go with the Darkness because whatever it is, it's wise and powerful. So, I assume that this viral language is the language of magic, or runes. Tunes are some of the oldest forms of language in existence and they convey pure meaning, or as close as we as humans can get. There are no "filler" words like "and" "as" "the" "for" etc. it conveys PURE MEANING. And the only reason we can't understand is because English allows for translation errors and humans are naturally biased so... Misinterpretation. TL;DR (edit 1): Runes of magic are number 8
