Here's an idea - You have 1 Hammer, it can be thrown but when thrown your super is depleted. Dependent on how much energy you have left changes how big the explosion of the hammer is. For example - a guy uses his HoS and he throws his hammer straight away. It wouldn't do as much damage as a NB nor is it easier to aim but it would still be quite effective.
Whilst using the super though you have to melee with the hammer, turning HoS into a glorified BDer. This would mean that Suncharge would have more of a place and hammer spamming wouldn't be a problem.
Just imagine how crucible would change. If that Sunbreaker wants to get a lot of kills over a large area he would have to play smarter instead of launching the fiery death mallets everywhere. I think that the extra armour would seem more balanced this way - although it still annoys me that there pretty much impenetrable to any arms fire. ( funny thing is I play a Titan a lot of the time and I'm sick of how HoS is )
