Disapointed Lord saladin
So after all the hype for the new iron banner I was expecting some serious gear here to make the rage of servers kicking you off worth it. I mean I wasn't expecting exotics but more than a shitty side arm and a sub-par pulse rifle. I was actually hoping iron banner would have sword and maybe revamped armor shaders. Minimum I was expecting 300 light lvl gear. But I guess I should be used to disapointment at this point from this game. You give us 1 thing but take 5 or 6 more.

Although I would prefer it to be more towards 290, you cannot expect yourself to simply play enough games to get to the said rank, and simply be handed over the gear at 300. Thankfully they have increased the chances of gear dropping, depending on your current IB rank. (Ex: Rank 2 drops class items, rank 3 the weekly armor, rank 4 the weapon, etc.) Gear may drop for lower ranks, but this is much less of a chance. The light level of said gear also depends on your own light level (Ex: 302 Guardian may get a 306 class item, if lucky, while a 288 will most likely get something along the lines of a 285 class item). Also, the timer on Lord Saladhead is for bounties only, despite what someone else says.

Seen lots of people getting stuff so far. He just also has a few things you can buy if you wanted it Also the gear resets daily so if you don't like today's gear just wait until tomorrow.

Why offer 280 stuff? they should offer 300-310 gear Legendary marks are not so easy to come by and are now account based, not character based Saladin only offers limited armor and weapons..... I really don't get why these developers do some of the things they do, they made a great game that I enjoy playing and playing with my friends, but jesus bungie does some weird shit that makes not a whole lot of sense I bet the trials gear will be 300-310, but then again probably not, because that would make sense lol Another thing they need to address is the nightfall rewards, they suck so so bad now, that, coupled with the removal of the experience bonus I don't even want to bother doing it anymore Seriously @bungie, i dont want antiquated runes, strange coins or motes of light for doing a nightfall, 2 of those things aren't even legendary items and antiquated runes drop on the dreadnought and from the champions.

Which means there isn't much point to participating. i don't competitively pvp enough to want the guns. i just wanted to look nice before they cycled the gear appearance out like they do every single DLC

I'm pretty interested in that pulse rifle tbh. I haven't found a year 2 pulse that I'm completely in love with yet so I want to give it a try. What's most upsetting is that there are only three daily bounties. We'll see how that plays out over the course of the week, but I feel like it's going to make things much more laborious.

Gear didn't drop max level until later IB's the first few always had gear 2 levels lower.

Edited by Hooligantuan: 10/14/2015 3:34:26 AMI looked over what Saladin was offering (and thus what the Iron Banner would be offering) and I just don't see much reason to fight. 1) One piece of armor. 2) Two new emblems. 3) Two old Shaders. 4) One new class item. 5) Two new weapons, both come off the shelf with mediocre perks at 280. Plus, stuff costs Legendary Marks, like anybody has any of those to spare. I just don't give a -blam!- about Iron Banner anymore, especially after I went in balls-out throughout Year 1 and was consistently burned by it as the game went through [i]significant[/i] growing pains.

i have had a 290 wolf cloak and a 297 ghost drop so you do get some higher level rewards they are just few and far between

1 ReplyFact: no Iron Banner has ever dropped anything higher than two light levels below the max light of each DLC at the beginning of said DLC. Fact: you can earn armor and weapons by participating in the Iron Banner. Fact?: these armors and weapons may drop from matches above 280. I haven't played any so I'm not sure yet.
