Title says it all. Leave your thoughts.
Edit: I don't care about the specific emotes. I don't want them. But them making the most wanted ones, which were requested by the community, require you to buy them for real money. That's a real middlefinger to all the community members.
It is so incredibly pathetic that people think I am upset because I can't afford it. That is the dumbest thing people can say about stuff like this. Shows the lack of intelligence just perfectly.
Edit 2:
I am honestly stunned by the amount of stupid comments like "lol I got 'em. u mad?" or "stop whining You Child".
But I'm happy there are some normal people out there that aren't blind and immediatly offended if you say something against optional microtransactions.

Supply and demand welcome to how the world works
-
2 RepliesHere is my 2 cents. This is an economy, this is supply and demand(in a sense, obviously there is an endless supply). The two requested items are in high demand. If Bungie DOES intend to use this money to pay for future DLCs, i would think that it makes more sense to take the most wanted items, and make them the most expensive, for a few reasons, mainly that it is more likely that you will get a high enough cash flow to fund the dlc projects. This is not the only time you see things like this in the real world. Take a 20 ounce bottle of Coke, for example. It costs on average $1.79. a 2 liter soda, with around 66% more soda in it, is on average $1.89. The 20 ounce soda is 8.5 cents per ounce, whereas the 2 liter soda is 3 cents per ounce, Yet people buy the 20 ounce soda for a much more inflated price because they don't want too much soda, it is convenient, or they don't realize or care that they are getting ripped off by paying more per ounce for a 20 ounce soda. Coke makes a killing off of 20 ounce bottles of soda, and they know that they can get away with it too because people will pay the money for the convenience. The destiny emote thing is similar. Bungie knows people were willing to put out money for these emotes, which is why they made them that way. Does that make them bad? I don't know maybe. To me it makes them more of a typical business that is trying to maximize profit, like any smart company would do. Im sure feelings get hurt along the way, but thats expected with anything. I think what this is, is actually just a matter of your own personal value you place on things. You don't think it is worth the money for the emotes. Others do, and others have paid for them. Im not saying you are wrong, im just saying look at how much you actually get screwed in real life over the same types of things. Its just business practice unfortunately.

I would have done the same thing. Who doesn't want more money?

"Title says it all" *says more*

Edited by Bazooka Tooth: 10/14/2015 2:24:58 PMThey're the ones that everyone wants, so why not charge more for them. If everyone is desperate to have them they aren't gonna give you enough silver for them. It's just business. Well Played Bungie.

3 RepliesEdited by Knowledge: 10/14/2015 2:55:56 PMNo problem broke boy. I copped 2300 silver. Keep the cool add-ons going Bungie! *cough, taken shader, cough wink wink*

I'm not trying to troll you but it really is simple economics. " most wanted by the community" = most valuable which literally means they are worth more. I thought it was good of them to give us the 400 for free actually. They didn't have to give us anything for free.
-
Selling the most wanted items foe more money is just business 101 any one that didn't see this coming is a moron.
-
u mad bro
-
Show me on the screen, where is the best place to throw all my money?
-
Funny thing is most of the emotes can be used as a taunt lol. Like for example if you headshot someone in their super or take out 2 or more people by yourself you can cower and that'd get them mad. I know I do that all the time.
-
Common business sense tells us if it's sought after by many don't give it away for free.
-
$38.00 for all of them ? Man give that money to a charity in your area. $4.00 for ONE ? Have at it if you want, but this will get out of hand real quick...

1 ReplyMany people fail to understand, it's not about being "too poor" or "not having a job". It's about not wanting to watch Destiny go down the same path as other games that eventually included pay-for-more-powerful-gear tactics. It's about placing value on the money you do make, and not wanting to see games you love tear out content so they can charge you more than you've already paid. It's about wanting to love Destiny and yet loving your hard-earned dollars at the same time. It's about the fact that they are effectively saying one emote has the value of 1/4 the House of Wolves expansion. Doesn't add up in my book. Also, these emotes come right on the heels of TTK, a $40-$60 expansion depending on which pack you bought. And the timing proves that these emotes COULD have been included. I'm not here to tell people what to do with their money. If you don't value the time you spend working, then by all means, buy a dance move in a video game that could have come with what you already paid for. Support that kind of business model, if it suits your fancy, but don't call other people poor and stupid for thinking it's not worth it.

Tantrum is the best one anyway

How poor and young is the Destiny fanbase?

Read up on business specifically supply and demand

Yes very crafty move by bungie here, I thought the same. Dangling the carrot just out of reach yet again but this time with real money.

1 Replyi'm not even going to spend my silver on some useless emote, i don't support the idea at all.

Its an online only game. they need as much money as they can to keep up with their plans, even a couple dollars a person can help this game out
