It's not just an issue with Nightfall. My light steadily increased as I progressed through quests… until I hit about 285. Then progression slowed to a crawl because the game refuses to give me anything in the 290's more than one out of every 20ish engrams. Maybe less. They should fix it so that activities give you engrams guaranteed to be in a range of required light for the activity to required light +10. I'm fine with a cap of 300 for non-raid loot and Engram drops, but I should not be getting 26X gear out of mission and activities requiring 280 light and up. I can't even use that crap to infuse other weapons to my current average.

  • I couldn't stress it more...... patrol the Dreadnaught. I've gotten SO MANY 294/295 weapons and armor. Especially armor. I've probably jumped 5-10 light levels JUST because I spent like 30 minutes just killing killing killing in the dreadnaught. Dreadnaught in my opinion is Destiny's absolute most solid place for patrolling.

  • I'll have to give that a try. It would make sense that higher level loot would drop there, but I have seen it yet. I'll have try to spend more time there patrolling. I'm usually just running from A to B while on a mission or strike.

  • Plus, legendaries do you have a rather smile worthy drop rate there.

  • doing that would be very annoying, as currently it takes your light level at the time of decoding and gives you loot based off that. what youre suggesting would make tiers of engrams essentially or go back to the old method of the item being essentially decoded upon drop.

Doesn't have to be fixed. Just a range that doesn't dip below the required activity level. And if it's been paying attention my light level at time of decode, it can't add. I'd be happy if it just didn't constantly give me crap 20 points lower than what I've equipped.
