Can you listen to music while playing Halo?
This isn't a do you listen to music.... but can you listen to music?
I can't put music on if I'm trying to play good because I play very badly while listening to music. If it's social then I put some on because I don't care how I play.
Feel free to list your favourite bands to listen to while playing Halo...

I would when it wasn't suicide for me. It's just terrible not to hear vehicles/power weapon shots/team mates and so on. I actually play very good with music and it doesn't draw off my attention but it just anticipates the possibility to hear the important ingame sounds.

I always have music playing in the background, I just don't play it loud enough that I can't hear whats going on.

i own with it better than not listening to music dragonforce, sugarcult, kaiserchiefs, queen, and others + songs cliffs of dover, we are the lazy generation, here i am ,social distortion, this way ,endless posibility, also the youtube vid grunt sings the ebay song, lol these are most of the music i listen to

I usally put it on in social but it annoys me that i cant hear my BR shots go into some ones head.

i listen to music on my mp3 player while i play halo. listening to music helps me be a better player on halo for some reason. [Edited on 07.05.2009 12:04 PM PDT]

Trance, rap, R&B, toned down rock (maybe alternative) gets me playing good in FFA playlists. Team based games I do not listen to music.

Between games i listen to down with the sickness by disturbed to warm me up. My favourite bands are Rammstein, Disturbed, Dethklok, Alexisonfire, Fear Factory and at some point Linkin Park.

while playing single player campaign, yes i listen to alkaline trio, thrice, bright eyes, and the rolling stones....while playing multiplayer however.....i like to listen to my teamates unless i'm playing lone wolf......lone wolf i listen to music, but i turn it down so i can hear where gunshots and grenades are going off

I don't like playing music while playing. I play with headphones and music clashes with their purpose. But when I'm just having fun, I love turning on Cynic or Between the Buried and Me.

I think we play worse because we lose concentration and you can't hear key sounds like lifts. Some people have special headsets so they can hear footsteps behind them and reloads and stuff. I wouldn't like that.

Ya, I listen to music, but I pay more attention to the game than to the music. Usually what I put on is Rammstein.

I feel that I do poorly when I listen to music, too. I don't know what it is... I have a variety of bands though. Too many to list.

No. It's a terrible distraction. I can't hear the game sounds, and it's always good to be able to hear what's going on. Not only that, but I can't hear what my teammates are saying. Communication is important in Halo, and having music playing in the background disrupts that.

If I had the ability to mute Halo 3's sound and play only my music from my 360, then I'd listen to Metallica and Foo Fighters. I'd probably do bad, though, as I like to be able to listen to the game I'm playing.
