Racism in the Community Hangout
My fellow B.net community members,
I am shocked and appalled at the blatant racism that seems to have flooded a popular 'Community Hangout' on this site. The upper echelons of leadership in The Wayward have gone out of their way to sling hurtful racial slurs at the members of our community with a darker skin complexion.
I could quote the founder himself saying that his use of n***** is acceptable both socially and privately but I don't need to. Instead, I will post picture evidence from people who also believe this to be an alarming issue. Shortly after this announcement, he proceeded to ban everyone who either was of that particular skin persuasion or anyone who called out said Founder.
I can't understand how such a blatantly, and openly, racist person can hold a position of leadership in a group that is meant to represent the community.
Community Managers, Ninjas, please make an effort in looking into this situation. Aside from the CoC for the site being broken, I myself and many of my friends are devastated by this news and bigotry. As people who were banned or discriminated against, we will not accept inaction.

As I said in the group, if one offensive word is used far more than others and the others aren't even used offensively, I am going to crack down on that one word a whole lot more than the others. Dickbaggery of any kind is prohibited, and any case of it is immediately looked into. To this date, I have yet to see a racial slur used offensively in my group. Aside from a few select users addressing their friends as "my nig" and such, its never actually used. Racial slurs are in fact prohibited from the group as of yesterday, and the situation was dealt with. There are select groups of users who despise me and the The Wayward over our support of Bungie and Destiny, and the only reason this is being blown out of proportion is because of that fact. [i]In fact,[/i] almost every user spreading this around are the same who rabidly insult Bungie, Destiny, and attack those who play and support Destiny. I will come right out and say it, yes; offensive slurs were allowed in the group simply because of lax rules and my instinct that common decency would be used, while those words would not be. I can see now that I was quite wrong, and the #OffTopic users who are complaining about this are the utmost in chivalry and kindness with no flaws in their own personality or their treatment of others. I don't like being called a racist, because I'm not. If users messaged me personally saying that they found the racial slurs in the group chat offensive, then I'd revise the Code of Conduct and prohibit them. But until now, that has not been an issue. Meanwhile, I received dozens of complaints regarding the treatment of Destiny fans in the group chat and still occasionally receive one or two from newly accepted members. Naturally I will focus on that form of rudeness more than other, almost unused kinds. You don't focus on one rowdy guy yelling at a police station while the other half of the town is on fire and breaking down in anarchy. The people I banned were those defaming Bungie, Destiny, and insulting the group staff. Nobody received a ban based on their racial ethnicity.
