(This does not include the flawless chest)
I am surprised this hasn't been brought up yet.
The recommended light level for this activity is 290. You are required to infuse the gear before you can even use it in the game mode it drops for. This is end game content and should drop end game quality gear.
Thoughts?

Insaneshane10 hit it spot on
"Trials is the like the raid for pvp players. The raid drops 300+ gear and weapons. Therefore it makes sense for trials to do the same"
Edit: There have been some of you saying 280 is a placeholder and not there actual drop value. I hope this is accurate and my concerns are misplaced.
Edit: The link no longer works. It appears they removed these items from the armory.

3 RepliesI agree however lighthouse items drop with elemental burns. Pve players don't have access to weapons with burns yet. Kinda upset by this.

*price is right fail horn*

1 ReplyI played trials because it was challenging and the gear looked freaking awesome. Yes it sucks they're releasing gear at 280 but still. It'll be fun.
-
5 RepliesEliminating trials as a source of end game loot might actually make the game mode more fun and less packed with try hards and cheaters. I actually like this idea.
-
1 ReplyThe adept gear in the lighthouse drops at 310.
-
1 ReplyI've seen ib gear drop in the 290's.
-
9 RepliesTrials was House of Wolves, why should it drop 310 gear?
-
The drop gear will be at random values up to 300. Same as any legendary gear decided from an engram or dropped randomly. Everything is listed at 280 and can be sold by a vendor at 280 but will drop at these random values. It will likely not go over 300. Drops from the lighthouse for flawless will be 310.

2 RepliesI hate trials and don't really like pvp in general, and I still think this is unfair. Pve players have a way to get endgame gear, so should pvp players. It's that simple
-
Higher light gear can drop in the end game rewards if you win. The more wins you have on your passage, the better items you can have drop when you win in trials. Same as iron banner, the main method of obtaining good higher light items in trials is through the endgame rewards.
-
2 RepliesYes but if you look at Lord Saladin he sells his stuff at 280 but the stuff also drops at higher levels so
-
People are getting high drop values in IB and it should be the same type system for ToO. The lighthouse should drop 300-310 from the box as well. We will soon see!
-
5 RepliesThis I actually agree with. IB is entirely different, 280 is fair, but Trials should be 300+
-
6 RepliesDoes anyone know what the new trials gear looks like?
-
1 ReplyEdited by Darklighter108: 10/14/2015 3:52:04 PMthis game is massively unbalanced. Bungie either hasn't learned or doesn't care. If trials gear is brought up to 300+, then, to be fair, they also need to remove exotic weapon bounties that have ridiclous PVP requirements. Some people will never get chaperone, and had a hell of a time getting Thorn last year (if they ever did) With a couple exceptions, our complaints have fallen on deaf ears, Bungie only fixes bugs that help players, and bow to the whiners and nerf everything. Trials is going to be ridiculous with all the stormcallers and sunbreakers, and guess what, they aren't going to fix that. Gear's not gonna be worth it anyway, like IB, that gear sucks except for maybe one of the weapons.

6 RepliesDeej, You did it. Your mission is complete, everything you worked for is over. I am gone; my family is going without dinner tonight, my daughter had to drop out of college and my wife is now working two jobs. This job was all I had and you took it from me. Not even my lawyers I brought to get some sort of compensation for my contribution to this game. You somehow screwed me out of 2 million USD without any sort of pension for my time. Deej, I hope you're happy with yourself, you and the rest of the Bungie dev team, ruining good perk's lives left and right. Goodbye everyone I will miss you on the battlefield. From, Shot Package

8 RepliesWhy should casual gear be higher levels?
-
1 ReplyThey a solutely should be 300
-
8 RepliesDrops/rewards are 290 You buy it at 280 like everything else
-
6 Repliesit wasnt the highest defense last dlc either quit complaining and get skilled its like the gears collectible k boo.
-
2 RepliesOn a separate note, would it be rational to say that this week's Trials will be one of the easier ones? Going under the assumption as with it being the first one for year 2 many "bad" players will give it a shot.
-
2 RepliesI have only received legendary 267 at light 303! So, I doubt 280 is any guarantee.
-
6 RepliesThey did it so you can't but it and fuse everything you have the flawless rewards will be 310 I guess
-
9 RepliesI did trials once.. got 2 guys to carry me to 9-1. (Would been flawless but forgot to get a new card).. I don't think I deserve 310 gear for that
-
1 ReplyI don't care how easy people think the raid is. Trials of Osiris, is something only the talented in crucible will ever be. Streamers and youtubes a will have no problem going flawless, In fact, it almost mocks the PVE players. To compare trials to oryx, you should get much less loot. Kings fall is a raid, trials is a walk in the park for some. With the recent additions, people will be going up against other 8 wins 0 losses in competition to go flawless. Now, any gamer who is decent in PVE who somehow manages to get to 8-0, will never go flawless unless they face someone worse. (Unlikely). So it's basically giving what people have been grinding the raid for, to people who are to good in pvp in half the time.
