Cannot update ps3 to 1.14 (error 80010038)

I have been unable to play Destiny since the release of the 1.14 update. I have downloaded it 8 times and the download always gets corrupted and gives error code 80010038. I have 120 gb hard drive. I tried resetting my console to factory specs, abd the update failed again. I literally have no problem installing or playing any other game besides Destiny. Can't you break the update into smaller chunks that will install properly or partially? I am wasting about 4hrs every time this update fails.

  • Do company moderators respond here or should I try some other venue? Cannot seem to find a customer service phone number or chat link. I just bought a copy of the game for my buddy so we could squad together. Hence I need to stay on ps3, rather than upgrade to ps4. I could buy another ps3, but if the error is caused by the massive size of the update files rather than a hardware issue, I will have two ps3 consoles and no functioning game. As I said before I can install and play any other game without an issue. Also I previously installed all Destiny files last year and played without an issue, until the year two update was released. Last year there was a way to get the updates to install in smaller chunks. If that option was made available again it might solve this problem.

    • Try Safe Mode. Choose 'Rebuild Database'. If that doesn't work, try 'Restore File System'.
