So I tried the court of oryx last night for the first time and some peeps were already playing so I jumped in to help. They started to shoot at me and melee me.
Is there a code or something that I don't know about or were these guardians just d bags?

If you don't screw up the mechanics of the fight then no. I hate kinderguardians who don't get how the fanatic of Crota fight works. They drop his shield before a sword has even spawned and then waste heavy trying to take his health down.

As long as you don't shoot the freaking cursed thralls before they get to the ogre or you don't know how to do Crota idc

Is there a quest line or bounty or something that you have to solo CoO? I was looking for fragments last night and went past CoO. There was a guy trying to solo a teir 2 so I jumped in and helped. He then sends a message saying "you have no idea how bad you just F&*%ed me over!". Is there something I am missing? Why would anyone NOT want help? Is there an achievement or something for this? I don't get it at all and he never responded to my response "Why?"

No it's not. Who ever uses the rune is most likely to get rewards. I would love to have you help me

Edited by CrazyCadder: 10/13/2015 12:40:50 AMJumping in to help is the entire purpose of it. Bungie's full intention was that people would help each other out and jump in. That's why it's in a patrol and not a separate activity.

Not rude.

Don't be a dick and kill one of the wizard trio with a sniper from outside the court if I'm in there soloing them. That shit has happened to me three -blam!-ing times.
-
Na honestly its helpful I mean u need help on antiquated runes that's just a fact

Not rude

It's not rude

It's a public event. Your free to do as you please.
-
Seen others needing help, jumped in to lend hand and then go to activate high one and they bugger off now that's Rude
-
They could've been trying to get you to set your fireteam to open so more players could join therefore you'd have an easier time of the highest tiers
-
Heck no. I always appreciate other guardians stepping in to help out.
-
Maybe you were messing something up?
-
Heck no! Definitely not rude! Surprised that anyone would react in the game that way. They were probably just toddlers. Most of us appreciate others jumping in to help or throw in runes. I've completed quests and bounties without even trying in the Court thanks to runes and firepower others have contributed.
-
Hell no, it's helpful brother. I would just recommend bringing some runes with you!

1 ReplyIt's a public event .. it is there for as many players that want to jump in, there are no "Private CofO" ... They were obviously just Ass Heads that wanted all the loot for themselves. Most players want more players .. make sit easier to beat the Bosses .. and the more players the more Ruins to pop for another round.

The only reason i can think of is that they were farming CoO for the calcified fragments... Other then that they were prolly just dïckheads...
-
No its considered a public event.
-
Who cares? Do whatever you want lol
-
Only if you don't know which way is up and keep messing up the fights. Other than that, come on over

As long as you were killing cursed thrall the instant they spawn, I see nothing wrong here. Honestly though, as long as someone is actually helping I have no issue with people joining in. It's the folks that go against the mechanics of a battle that really get on my nerves.
-
It's always nice, unless it's t3 and you screw up the mechanic like someone who can't run sword taking the sword or taking all the ogre buffs and not killing ogres. Or if you drag the sword and boomer knight away.. Haha i dunno why people wouldn't gladly take help
-
You must have ran into some jackasses. I welcome it.

it's called a public event for a reason. I personally would like some indication as soon as I board the dreadnaught that guardians are at the court
