Grasp of Malok farming strategy. (Double your drops)
With Grasp of Malok becoming know to be a great if not top tier pvp weapon me and some friends started farming the omnigul strike. We soon realized you can kill omnigul on the slope leading up to the boss room and that she was dropping strike table loot (wolf pelt gear for hunter) We started to keep killing her till hoping it gave us a second chance at the loot table and wanted to verify it did with either a omnigul bond or grasp of Malok drop. Well it happened, and I can confirm that if you kill her on the slope she has the same drop table (Check video for proof) So kill her on the slope and then again in the boss room and and enjoy your double drops.
Edit: for those saying it is bad because of its impact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfA1ef_IXmQ You people should try things that aren't high impact because they aren't bad anymore. (Hint, try new guns with weapon balance changes)
Edit: This was patched out of the game a few weeks ago.

7 RepliesI'm gonna try and farm it for a couple of hours now, I cannot get a grasp to drop, I've used most of the very few keys I've got on omnigul and it just refused to show its beautiful head!

4 RepliesI have had 2 of these drop for me on the heroic strike list. First one had Focus Lens FLS2, Exumed(meh), Perfect balance, third eye 335 light.(this is BEAST!! in PvP). Second had Focus Lens FLS2, Headseaker, SkipRounds/Will of Light(BEAST in PvE Taken), and Grenadier 334 light. That said my wife has struck out on this and she plays twice as much as I do. If i could get a roll of Headseaker, perfect balance and third eye this thing would own all in PvP PERIOD!!! The rate of fire at 77 is alone in year 2 primaries and i would say that this is worth the grind. That said... can you grind this strike specifically from the map or does it have to be in the heroic list to drop? Haven't seen a definitive answer yet. Just curious if you can and if anyone else has had the same/better luck with this?

(Hint, try new guns with weapon balance changes)[/quote] Killed her around 100 times yesterday farming her and wiping. Zero grasps dropped for anyone and I only saw one Omnigal bond drop.

Picked up my first one after about 25 cracks at the strike. Red dot, fitted stock, counterbalance, and glass half full. While I'm still getting used to both the gun and Crucible play (just got onto PS Plus this weekend), I've had great success with it in PVP. Went 2.25 K2D in Rumble, second match (Nightstalker, with about half od the abilities unlocked, paired with a Strongbow-D shotgun / Telestro). It fits for [my playstyle] in PVP, which is a moderately aggressive patroller type. That being said, there were people with Praedyth's, Red Death, Hung Jury, all of whom did well. The best take-away I have from getting one of the (supposed) best pulses in the game with a good roll? It's a great tool, but the players skill is the true craftsman. Use what's best suited to you. If you are a twitchy kind of aimer, Grasp of Malok will do you more harm than good. Or if you're not a very good shot, this weapon will frustrate you. It's more for the quick and deliberate aim players than anything. I got rocked by plenty of people toting a plain-old Vangard legendary to know that my weapon isn't totally OP or uber. And I embarrassed enough with Praedyth's, Nirwen, Red Death, TWL, ToM, and about anything else to know that theirs aren't either.

3 RepliesReviving an old topic because the Grasp of Malok is SOOOO good. I find I can compete against Mida Multitool with my roll: - Red Dot-ORS (mid range high accuracy) - Secret Round (fires 4th shot if one misses) - Smallbore (increased range and stability) - Grenadier (more grenade energy on kill) If I'm playing this week's IB Rift, I'm rolling with Mida, TLW, or Grasp of Malok. It's top tier for sure. Can confirm. Good luck to everyone still trying to farm a good roll on this one!

2 Repliesi'm so disappointed i have been grinding for two weeks straight 14 to 15 hours a day and still have not gotten it yet, but i went with three other people they they got it one first and second try , i'm starting to really hate this game. i would assume after grinding so much it would give it to me, and people who have only done it once get it first try , might sell destiny !

4 RepliesI hate seeing this gun mentioned. It's a dirty secret and I don't want it nerfed. In skilled hands grasp of malok with rangefinder and braced frame will not lose a 1v1 firefight under just about any circumstance. TTK is absolutely ridiculous with 3 burst head shots

8 RepliesImpact is a joke. Range is mediocre for a pulse. Rate of fire is high but doesn't make up for the flaws. My titans lyudmila-d trumps this piece of junk. Even the apple of discord is better, and at least that's a guaranteed drop from the story.
