While i am not so happy with exotics not being obtainable yet i can totally see why they are going for the time gated content in year 2.
Many players at the start of year 1 complained it was too easy getting all the gear in the first few months and then we had all the dlc weapons really quick bar one (necrochasm, which required hard mode crota, in a sense time gating the release of the crux)
If everything was available now people would have got every exotic using the three of coins exploit (which i think bungie knew about, like the loot cave, there is no way it was patched so quick if they didnt know, but thats a seperate issue). Then they would be the first to complain its too short, seriously its a difficult line to tread and get right for a developer.
Maybe they need to create more content, but businesses can only work so quick and maybe the vision that the developers is vastly different from what everyone expected. I still have hopes for the game and can see the potential it could be however there are things holding it back such as lack of in game social interaction/lfg, fuller open worlds and more in depth content (TTK did inmprove on this).
I want to mention we are not the developers of the game and we only give feedback, bungie have taken alot of that feedback and put it in the game which is great but they are the ones that have spent over 7 years on the game and they have there own story they want to tell without it be ruined by everyone else and those people that data mined eveything.
Each to there own opinion and have a good day gaurdians.
