I hate people who say 295+ light and shit

Umm no if you are that bad that you need, no require that is stupid and your team must be trash. I have done this raid at 290 light and i was fine. But of course apparently too some people anyone below 295 can't dish out enough damage. Thats plain stupid.

  • Make your own and then you can have whatever requirements you like. See how that works? If it is yours you can do what you want with it.

  • For a clan member we take anyone through. We recommend 290 at least. But for a random if all my guys/gals are busy we have strict requirements. 295+ with experience. Because um -blam!- a random lol

  • I'm 290 light and don't bitch about it because I know you can get to 299 light by doing strikes. Just so them until you get to max non-raid light. Not that hard.

  • You can get to 299 light without doing the raid. Just do heroic strikes and play the game.

  • So its okay for you to dictate how others play, but not them? If u want to raid with ppl under 290 you can, you payed for that right.... But so did the people with those requirements.

  • My only reason for over 295 would be experience which leads to quicker runs, but buddy and myself have dragged through high 280's before just depends on how much time I have to spend

The raid for the most part can be done with less than 290 if people want to, but my experience you need to have people as close to 300 as humanly possible to do Oryx effectively. Today, with a team of people who have done the raid many times, got him to enrage because we didn't do enough dps. It makes the fight so much more plausible if you are closer to 300. I'd still take lower levels through i don't have a problem with it, I just feel that if you want to kill Oryx without worrying about dps you need to be near 300.

    • It's hilarious how all these scrub 300s are like you need to be at least 295 when the only reason they are above 300 is because they completed the raid at 293. Like give me a break you lame ass mofos, so you guys got to do it than but now the people who actually have lives are getting to do it they have to be 295? Stfu and worry about your damn self

      • I think that a 295+ light requirement is more about the types of experience a player with that light level has. For example; I was light level 287 the second day after TTK was released BUT I just hit 304 light last night. The time in between was spend in PvP and Crucible playlists and farming for the various weapon quests. I also spent a lot of time in the court of Oryx and had a few failed raid attempts. All of these experiences made me a better player and a more considerate teammate in the raid. So when I finally beat Oryx I was patient enough to suffer the wipes and humble enough to receive coaching on how to improve. I was part of a group last night that absolutely MURDERED Golgoroth but quit on Oryx after two wipes. These players were not patient or considerate and they were all sub 295 light. Not saying that a higher light level makes you better, just saying that the process of attaining that light level truly refines you.

      • You need to be 295+ If you are below 295, better hope you have malice or spindle. The light requirements aren't because we want to keep casuals or lower levels out and be elitist ...it is just really -blam!-ing hard to do the raid with people below 295. Trust me, my first run was with all 290s. Do strikes, get to around 297, then jump in.

If you aren't over 295 by now then you probably have not completed the raid and want people to carry you through it. Below 295 you are a burden and looking for a handout

          • With a skilled enough team a minimum light level can range from 285-290. That is not the point however. Players want to get through a strike as quickly and effectively as possible. Two factor can go into this: skill and light. If you are on lfg you have no way of knowing who is skilled so players with higher light levels can make up for a lack of BADASSITUDE with more damage. So wanting the best possible players for your team only makes logical sense. So you can trade up your players for better ones. Kinda like football. Stats in football don't determine skill but they look good on paper

            • Did my first raid this week with my friends, 2 285 Titans and a 295 Titan, Me and another 2 Hunters at 297/6. We had fun and ran it casually. You don't need to be 290+ for the raid, sure it helps but it isn't required. If you're a competent player then it's simple. The raid is so mechanic focussed that damage output is not a huge factor for most of the bosses. Damage output is only relevant while fighting the Warpriest. Even then we did more than enough damage to him easily once we had the mechanics down. People need to be more open with this and not look for 295+ when 285 is easily possible.
