I hate people who say 295+ light and shit
Umm no if you are that bad that you need, no require that is stupid and your team must be trash. I have done this raid at 290 light and i was fine. But of course apparently too some people anyone below 295 can't dish out enough damage. Thats plain stupid.

I think light level req is more about experience than damage.

If you're only 290 right now then you probably have no clue what to do in the raid

I beat it with a team of 290's the first time. We were only able to stagger by jumping on the platform. Besides 295 is easily obtained without the raid

I dd it with all 290's. But, now most of the community who had done the raid plenty of times are 300+. That's why I will always require 300+ for Oryx.

But having said that ill run my friends who are new to this game any day. Some are light 280 and ive helped them through Oryx. My friend played since beta and he wasnt able to get Ghorn through rng until Xur sold it. I hated people that required ghorn for raids. People that require light level in their raids or nightfalls are just too bad and need to be carried

It's more or less a insurance plan, if a person at 288 light joins you and never got any good loot that'll bump up the light level by golgoroth then there may not be enough damage to kill it, believe me I've done a fresh blind run and a fresh experienced run both of which were 2 days apart and we had so much trouble with golgoroth, we needed at least one black spindle or hereafter.

Just finished it today actually at 296 gear score . Really couldn't imagine doing it with less gear . I feel like it makes more strain on the other members .

Complete the raid with a group of everyone under 295 then and prove us wrong.. You literally cannot stagger oryx less than 295. You have about 5 seconds to put out sufficient damage. No matter your skill, your light and guns limit how much you're able to put out. It's not the rest of the raid people require 295 for, it's oryx

300 plus guarantee's at least a partial raid completion. Experience makes the run smooth.
