So, I've been playing Crucible lately and have been noticing some things in the balance of the game. I'm not going to list any of my opinions here. I'm just curious to know what everyone in the community thinks is pretty strong right now.

1 ReplyI think we all can agree. The WarSat is just too OP. Why couldn't Rasputin just send an email?

Nirwens mercy lol

1 ReplyI used to think the sunbreaker super was OP from the ground up. Now I think it's only OP because it can tank a high impact sniper head shot or a golden gun shot. Otherwise it's all pretty balanced.

Sunbreakers ruined the crucible.

Very little... while some setups give more advantage than others.. it will always be the case.. and they will always be a "popular" loadout. No matter how much they balance it.. it will always be the case. And tweak after tweak takes a little bit more from the PVE mode. I am not a great PVP player.. my reaction time and latency are not high... but most games I adjust to the match and hold my own. I get crushed by those with more skill... as it should be. But even in year one, other than final round snipers, I thought very little was OP. Some were more effective than others... but it was on me to counter.

Pulse riffles have the fastest time to kill which basically means you have to use the best ones or you get smoked! Hammer of sol is so strong I've decided I'm running it all year long. If improving my kd means using the most cheesiest setup for pvp, then -blam!- it! I'll be cheesing just like everyone else. Thorn is good still and fun to play with, but it's just not good against pulse riffles at any range. I get beaten in close range with a lot. Handcannon a are completely -blam!-ed just like auto riffles. Auto riffles still suck. They ought to be competitive in close range, but the base damage stats are still too low to compete against pulse riffles. Stability needs to be increased across the board because it takes a lot more skill to land precision shots for auto riffles. What kills them the most is they are just boring to use. Hip fire made autos so popular to me when I first starlets playing. Suros easily became my favorite when I acquired it because of its hip fire and great mid range accuracy. It's still a snoozer now even after 2.0. Granddaddy of them all: the primary exotics that were updated by 2.0 to be more competitive in crucible were left behind. All of the hype Monte Carlo, necrochasm, and hard light had received after the patch vanished. Everyone is using pulse riffles because they are scrubs. They will comment on this post and be like oh I play with auto riffles all the time. Then I'll go check their stars and they won't have used one since the 2.0 patch dropped. If you people really think crucible is balanced, then I can only conclude that you are Bungie fanboys and will support any kind of stupid balancing decision without properly asking yourself is the game balanced. I mean when I look in the kill feed and see 10/12 players getting kills with a pulse riffle, I'm thinking hmmm pulse riffles are mandatory if I want to be as competitive as possible. Conclusion: crucible is unbalanced. There is no weapon variety. You either use pulse riffles or you lose. I am aware that some people are successful with other weapon types, but if all those people combined make up less than 20% of the population, then YOU ARE ONLY PROVING MY POINT!! When ever your looking at a population you should always look at the majority not the minority (but include them in stats)

14 RepliesAre we all going to ignore the latest trick being used by warlocks? Run up towards an opponent Active storm caller Fist of havoc with landfall Then continue on with there already very powerful super.

1 ReplyNothing is really OP nowadays other then those auto aim sniper rifles like 1000-Yard-Stare that take no skill to use, maybe some secondary things like more primary ammo though
-
6 RepliesPersonally I think the charge rates for supers and grenades should be toned down a little. Crucible feels much more about supers these days than it did in year 1. Probably because everyone has a mobile super now. Maybe reduce how often people can get them, or reduce how long they last. Overall though it's good. Theres still not really a place for fusions and sidearms, but overall you can use most weapons now no problem. Pulses are the best, but there is defo no thorn or last word. I love zone control and the new rules for inferno. I wish they were permanent.

Those are probably the most out of control parts of the game, and they need seriously looked at. The game plays poorly thanks to those things as they are. Also spawns, which may also involve map size, and yes I realize some things aren't weapons and such. Even still they are a problem.

9 RepliesTo everyone saying that a super should be nerfed... A super is supposed to be OP. It's supposed to be able to kill an enemy easily. That's kind of the whole point of a super.

I just think a lot of stuff is underpowered...

Sun breakers has slightly to much armour..... Apart from that not much.
