Most efficient way to use 3 if coins?
Im struggling with getting exotics to drop. Any suggestions on how to use three of coins?

2 RepliesBuy 77 strange coins exactly. T-bag Xur 7 times up-down repeat. Run over to your vanguard hit x to interact. Take your cursor and draw a circle around their face 3 times. T-bag your vanguard until they talk 3 times. Fly to orbit select Mars strike. Then select a earth strike then select a draudnaught strike in that order. Then start up the strike you want to play any is fine. Kill 77 enemys. Use a three of coins. T-bag 7 times. Enter boss area. Run in a circle 8 times. Drop boss and walla

2 RepliesRun heroic strikes. Get vanguard strike buffs. Pop one at the beginning of the strike, kill boss. Repeat.

Fastest method now seems to be cycling charcters.

4 RepliesOkay here's how I use it and I currently average 1 exotic drop for every 5 coins. I load up the Scourge of Winter mission in Venus. I already have the checkpoint to the boss. I use a Coin, then make sure I have sniper and a rocket launcher equipped. I fight the enemies until I get Heavy ammo. (Let them kill me if I don't get any) once I get heavy ammo, I snipe the boss till his health is low then rocket launch him at point blank range, if he doesn't drop an exotic I go back to orbit, work on a quest, daily story, or a crucible match then come back and try again. 1/5 chance almost every time.

Showing a friend Calcified fragments, we used 1 on Ultra Knight and both got a Exotic. Then we ran over to Agonarch Rune, used one one on that boss, and both got one again. Try getting 3 people with charged runes and using them one at a time as you go back and forth between the Ultra knight and the Rune. (Not sure about the Ultra knights spawn though, so may not work like that.)

1 Replyi did scourge of winter this morning. within 1.5 hours i got 3 exotics to drop, and used 7x 3oc 2x warlock gauntlets @ 290 light 1x the last word at 310 light i would load in, use 1x 3oc and kill/die respawn and loot exotic engram or go to orbit and wait 10 to 15 mins before trying again. i wasnt activately sitting there waiting for every 10 to 15 mins to pass. had to get ready for work in between kills. i dont not know the exact timer between each use.. so thats why i go with 10 to 15 mins you absolutely can get an exotic drop from the first bond brother, as many have already pointed out the biggest question i have is when the timer starts between each use. does it start when you use the 3oc, or does it start when you kill the boss? also, the effects of 3oc will wear off after a period of time. you can see the buff in your inventory screen after awhile, it will eventually go away.. 30 mins maybe??

Always have one active and just play the game. There's no way to farm them efficiently, other than just doing strikes.

Over time. As you do strikes or help friends with missions that have ultras.

1 ReplyUse a Three of Coin whenever you don't have one active because REASONS. They will only be consumed when you defeat an Ultra. You can power your system down, and jump back on later and it will still be active until you defeat an ultra. There really is no reason to wait until the last minute. If your inventory loading times are anything like mine, you don't want to try consuming one in the middle of a scrap.

4 RepliesBuy around 100 per week. Use one after each ultra kill. That way it will be active until you kill your next ultra and so on. Play the game as you normally would. Profit.

Every time I notice I don't have one equipped... I pop one.

i just do strikes and use one on each, average one exotic about every 5 strikes, and its fun if you bring a couple friends and make a day out of it

Do scourge of winter with fireteam of 2, 1 at a time, when one person has done his, switch characters and rejoin while he is doing his, done this for about an hour and got 6 exotic engrams between my 3 characters! My buddy got 7!

22 RepliesDo not use 3oC during following circumstances. 1) you popped one less then 5 minutes ago 2) you are in dust palace 3) till after you kill first brother in shield brothers 4) anytime boss loot comes from chest such as oryx or sisters

Heroic Strike playlist. Pop 1 per strike.

Repeatedly do the heroic play list and pop one 3oc at the boss and stay in as long as you possibly can

Only use one at a time, keep running vanguard or heroic strikes without going to orbit. I don't pop the three of coin till right before I get to boss

4 RepliesIm convinced it still just goes by luck and 3oC adds maybe 2% extra chance. Im going to do another week of testing but since TTK launched ive gotten 1 exotic (not using 3oC) outside of quests/ xur. Probably used 40+ plus coins. If I don't get an exotic this week i'm just going to save my strange coins.
