Sleeper new theory why so underpowered
Ok so the sleeper was said to outrank gjallahorn correct ? Honestly it isn't that great in my opinion (no hate plz) but listen. Remover the first core you get it's called ikeles or something like that. Well in the sleepers description it says that then status complete. Well under that it says midnight exigent incomplete. Could this mean the sleeper is also incomplete. Also if you look at the back of the sleeper it looks like something could fit on the back. Maybe this is something you achieve from the hard raid. The midnight exigent for those that do not know is the apocalypse or in another sense the darkness ( Rasputin talks about this a lot) when it says incomplete maybe we need to fight the darkness ( oryx maybe) and receive the other piece of the sleeper. Again it is just a theory but would be really cool if this was the case. Tell me what you find guardians.

2 RepliesMidnight Exigent would suggest something that has to be done at Midnight, which leads me to believe that something might happen with it on Halloween, with Midnight being the witching hour, and exigent being something that requires immediate attention.

I can't wait to see damage tests. I will bet money a full team of simulant will kill aetheon faster if they all hit the crit spot. Simulant needs a bit of skill to be amazing.

6 RepliesThe Midnight Exigent refers to the protocol Rasputin put into effect during the Collapse. It is essentially the "if all else fails and humanity is to be eradicated, do what is necessary to stop that from happening." The theory floating around the community right now is that Rasputin actually crippled the Traveler as it tried to escape Earth, like it did the Fallen. Moving back to the SS, it is no where near underpowered. It currently has the best boss DPS capability of any heavy weapon. "But Randall, it has a slow charge time, and a low ammo count!" Yeah, it does. This was all intentional. Bungie doesn't want another Ghorn on their hands. "But Randall, Bungie said that the SS was the Ghorn of Y2!" First off, Bungie did no such thing. Gameinformer did. They were comparing it to the Ghorn because it [i]is[/i] the heaviest hitting heavy weapon in the game, regarding TTK. If Bungie made it as good, or even better than Ghorn, LFG and the forums would become the same bullshit they were just over a month ago, with everyone requiring Ghorn. Does anyone really want that? In conclusion, it is a good thing that the SS isn't anything like the Ghorn. Everyone benefits

Maybe it"ll be only an extra perk, new design and 310 light, after all, the most expected and promoted exotic can't be so easily obtained and at 290 light... But who knows. About the "extinction of the darkness" thing, many quests ended the darkness, for example the defeat of the black heart. Maybe it's just nothing, but think greater, it can be surprising.

The last part just means the fight against the darkness is incomplete and still on going. Thats the end of the sleeper. You have it. It's done. Move on.

the SS is really powerfull but, you have to use it at the right moment, not everytime. it DPS bosses really good i use it only on bosses

No one said that it would outrank Gjallarhorn. The community assumed that it would.

1 ReplyMidnight exigent = rasputins code for fighting the darkness. Once the darkness is eliminated then midnight exigent will be complete and that likely won't affect the sleeper simulant since it won't happen until much later in the game series

Wouldn't it be great if it was like Dark Souls 2, where there was the "fake" Bluemoon Greatsword and the real Moonlight Greatsword? That is just a lore tidbit. referring to his plan to handle the darkness. and we are his plan. Which is more then likely why we get the weapon parts from stuff related to him. Anyway people think it sucks because they are using it in situations where sustained damage is the best. SS is a burst damage weapon like the swords and rockets. and it already outshines rockets.
