I consider myself a pretty good player at destiny, but I'm no hardcore player. What do u think the recommended light level is?

It's 260+ from memory, 280 plus weapons are a good idea though

My group was all 286-290 it took four hours. We got it though.

300 ideally, 290 minimum exotic swords and armor of light help kill the boss quick at the end. if you can place the bubble and draw him in, if not you can use blessings but you have more risk

I'm going to get a group next time it rolls around, found out I can kill the boss in under 30 seconds.
