I just turned in my core today cause I had to give up on looking for an Earth Warsat. I thought after I did that he would give me the strike quest, but no he didn't. Now I have to figure out if its bugged, I have to wait a day or something or what.

You have to wait a day for him to show the core to the foundries. I hope you will be able to get the quest tomorrow but I am sorry if that isn't the case and you have to wait for the next event. :(
