Legendary gear will go straight to the next value if it's within 5 points Exotic gear will go straight to the next value if it's within 4 points. In any other cases, upgrading Legendary gear will take 80% of the infused item's value. However, upgrading Exotic gear will only take 70% of the gear you're breaking down. So how do we calculate this? Legendary Gear: (Highest Gear - Lowest Gear) × .8 = New Value Exotic Gear: (Highest Gear - Lowest Gear) × .7 = New Value The .8 and .7 represent the 80% and 70% of what you take with you to the new piece of gear. Those parenthesis are important too as they tell how much 80% and 70% are. So calculate the difference of your gear before multiplying. Example: I want to upgrade my Exotic 280 Fabian Strategy and I'll infuse my Legendary 300 Apple of Discord to it (300 - 280) × .7 = *14* 280 + *14* = 294
