Solution for the Sleeper Simulant NERF Exotic Swords
I keep hearing a lot of people saying they are not replacing their exotic sword for the Sleeper Simulant. A simple solution to this problem would be to nerf the exotic swords! We are talking about a weapon that's supposed to be the Year 2 Ghorn and currently it doesn't live to the expectations.
Bungie you should nerf the swords a lot! To make the Sleeper Simulant more competitive.

I replaced my exotic sword with a purple machine gun. Outside of warpriest (in the middle), I couldn't find much use for a sword in the raid. Rocket launchers are good in a few spots, but it's really all about high impact snipers and ToM. In strikes and patrols, swords are great. They're also the highest risk/reward value weapon in the game. Even shotguns didn't put you directly into melee range of enemies. It's no surprise that they can be OP in the right situation. My only real gripe about SS is the ammo. However it does about 2-3 times the damage of a high impact sniper, with most snipers in that category rocking 18 rounds total, 7 shots is roughly on par with the total damage output of a sniper. Finding ammo is another problem, it would have been a far more viable weapon in the secondary slot and if fusion rifle bonuses applied to it. All that aside, if you don't have black spindle or ToM, it's not a bad weapon to cycle through during DPS phases if you're using 1KYS or another sniper. I rarely used my heavy during the raid after our first few clears (and people had better personal DPS output). ToM will dominate your exotic slot during the final two fights.

No that's stupid, and i don't even have an exotic sword yet... But how about instead of doing the stupid nerf thing, we just have the ss buffed so it does a bit more damage and we can carry more ammo in reserve maybe up to 15 rounds?...

Bungie should just remove all the weapons and give us peashooters. Also, nobody said that the sleeper simulant was going to be the next Gally, everyone just assumed that it was going to be the best weapon because it was a unique type of weapon. Also some people are claiming that it might not be the full version of the gun considering its level requirement is 30 and every other year 2 exotic is level 40. Nerfing swords so that another weapon can be useful is an idiotic suggestion to be completely honest.

3 RepliesAre you retarded or just plan stupid? The simulate at 290 attack will kill skolas in two shots. That's at 290. You can't two hit him with a solar sword at 310. I my self have infused it as high as I can, only 295, and I personally can't wait to get some 310 heavy exotic drops to infuse into it asap. If you use it, and look at the actual damage it is capable of, you would see what another friend of mine noticed (and he didn't like it at first and was the first person in the group to get it so he did further testing) it is more powerful then the g horn. Yup, it really is. The memory we have of that weapon is at full power. That's attack level 310 these days,oat people left the fusion cannon at 290 and made their poor judgements based off an unleveled, base drop weapon. I think this is going to be a gun that the idiot lemmings on lfg will require for a raid team once everyone realizes just what it can do.
