I'm in the same boat really hoping there will be some way for players who don't have a fireteam to get past 300 light and after the recent patch I've gotten the worse loot, never anything past 285 most in the 260s..
There should be way for players to obtain gear over 300 without raiding.. it's not like we're going to get the sick raid gear but something over fricken 300 would be really nice to see...

i checked your characters. i slowed pretty hard when i got to your light level as well. as others have said, there are 2 quests that award 300s. one is a court of oryx quest gives you a 300 artifact, the other i dont remember, but it gives you a 300 special. think it was vanguard related. anyway. try completing quests til u get those, might bump you up to 295. the hardest part is the ghost, the 294 blue i have now was a blessing, i had never even got one above 275 before that, i was using the 280 one u can buy. im not sure, but i want to sa i got it from CoO, but it might have been crucible. i dont remember.
