Something Bungie might not have considered is that people can abuse this silver micro transaction by saying they will help for silver or if you want to do the raid you gotta pay silver. This happens in games like warframe all the time. Little kids get trolled by a-holes who say yeah gift me x-amount of (plat/silver) and I'll help you do this. Only to be ripped off. With elitists all ready making crazy demands for raid parties I can promise you there will be posts about paying to join teams as soon as this update hits. Even if its just "comsetics" for now, by adding real world currency you are adding a trafficing element to the game...watch
Edit: Im aware there isnt a "trading system in destiny, however adding a real world currency into the game creates a market where people can ask for market place codes to buy the silver etc. This happens in other games. And yes I'm aware people could do that now with cash or paypal but just having a real world currency in the game will likely make it more prevalent. Im simply starting a disscussion about it. You can agree or dissagree. I'm just bringing it up
Edit: im glad so many people are talking about this (even the name callers lol) at least the discussion is happening. Maybe I'm wrong about this, hopefully I am.

How is this any different then real money which people are already doing?
-
2 RepliesWhat makes you think there will be a gifting mechanic?
-
Too true. This will indeed make it harder for younger and newer players to learn mechanics of the game AND helps give some assholes some free cash.
-
1 ReplyHow the UfCK would i give anyone else my silver? Jesus....Muted
-
Who honestly cares... there are already people who pay 100$ for a raid carry, whats the difference... Also I'm muting you, nothing personal, just tired of seeing these stupid threads.
-
3 RepliesI don't think that matters... There EMOTES
-
A good/ simultaneously bad point. Don't give these assholes ideas. Like other posters have mentioned. Flawless for silver is inevitable. and for the ppl saying you can't trade silver p2p, or it would have already been done for cash already; adding an in game currency with real value makes this much easier. Trials carry for silver code will be one the new low in destiny.
-
Er.. No.
-
Silver cannot be converted to money so that's pretty -blam!-ing useless
-
Nothing new. People were selling trials runs and Bungie didn't even bat an eye. They don't care as long as they're getting paid.
-
Who on earth would actually pay for a raid slot? If this is a thing .... I completely give up on this community
-
3 RepliesPeople already sell raid carries and ToO carries
-
Thx 4 the idea. I never thought of charging for raid help.
-
that's not a bad idea, thanks
-
Ill carry you through the raids free. Sure havent finished oryx but that just because it was a group of 6 newbies and after 5 hours to get there we were exhasted.
-
Sorry but no. If that was the case people would have been doing MSP/PSP/Paypal/w/e.
-
Edited by radabe8686: 10/8/2015 2:38:46 PMHonestly this is a stupid post. The advent of Silver will make no difference to whether people charge money to help ingame. There is literally zero way to transfer/trade silver between accounts.
-
2 RepliesLol why do Silver...? Just ask for $$. I don't see the logic to asking for a game currency that you can only purchase cosmetic stuff with, when actual money has no boundries...your logic is flawed.
-
2 RepliesCan we even trade silver?
-
Carrying to Lighthouse. 100 Silver per visit.
-
if they added matchmaking to everything nobody would be forced to pay for playing , bungie encourages this behavior with their flawed social/online system in destiny
-
I could see it, we already have elitists with the raid. I could easily see certain teams saying pay up or no go. Granted most teams right now are making stupid demands like min light levels beyond what's actually recommended, previously done the raid multiple times, specific pvp/game stats, etc. Yes it could easily be possible with redeem codes just to stock pile silver for later expansions on what's offered. They will expand the offers for silver we all know it at some point. I can hope such things don't happen but it's safe to say we will hear about it at some point.
-
If you are dumb enough to get ripped off and bad enough to need it, you deserve it.
-
If you want to participate in the raid you have to buy me a new dance move! Any takers?
-
Not exactly any different to paying to be carried to flawless in Trials. As long as ppl are willing to pay others are gonna take advantage of that.
-
Guaranteed lighthouse carry. 1,000 silver per player. Msg me for details lol. I can see it coming.
