What are some of your best strategies for beating the War Priest? Are there any tips or ticks you can share to help other Guardians defeat King's Fall's first boss?

Try to have the guy who is really good at using the shield get it. Use 1000 yard stare or black spindle. My raid group has killed him in one rotation before.

@ ZacR Shocked that you're the first person I have seen to mention waiting to kill an add until the last second. This is likely THE most important part of the entire fight. Plan to have the same person take on the Brand every time. Someone with a Super Cell or other excellent add killer. Then they need to be in a spot where they can make sure they kill 1 add when the timer reaches zero to reset the 10 seconds and maintain the multiplier as long as you can. After killing 5 adds, you can't reset the clock by killing another, and the Oculus will activate. 1 person can hold the Brand for up to 50 seconds allowing a team to do way more than 50% damage. Repeat this Twice and the battle will be over before the Taken even show up.

Black spindle, Hunter tethers warpriest , titan pops weapons of light. The person holding the spark or whatever you want to call it should get good at weakening enemies so he can kill them on the last second.

1 ReplyReally? You only want our strategies so you guys can create something in the heroic raid to prevent them.

3 RepliesEdited by Vakso: 10/9/2015 4:15:34 PMBreak Down. Basically fight starts when you gain the buff. Right > middle > middle. No team should have to active the oculus more than twice. If the buff spawns middle take it there first, then right then middle again. Black spindle or snipers are best. When tethered is best time to spam burst damage (rockets), and basically just go for headshots with sniper or primary.

Strategically placed bubble to help block ADD bullets while you're shooting at the priest (at least on the right side). For the middle and left side (high side) having that bubble behind the group to provide a place for cover/reloading and providing weapons of light has helped a lot. The ADDs are what needs to be watched out for since they can shoot at you from more directions than the priest.

4 RepliesYo guys. You realize that Bungie is only ask what u use for Warpriest so that they can make it harder right? Everyone is saying WoL and tether. Guess what? They are probably go to make it so Warpriest drains your light now, so u don't get supers

1 ReplyHigh impact sniper + weapons + shadowshot(black hole)&/Ward Of Dawn(weapons of light). Clear all adds, kill yellow bar Knights. Have someone check and call the sequence. I think what my team did was: if sequence ends on Left or right, go Right(?) and if the sequence ends on middle, go middle. Then we'd all shoot the warpriest I think, and when the timer gets close to 0 we'd kill an acolyte or something. Then repeat and defeat him, collect 2 shards and if you're lucky a heavy weapon I believe... :/ idk if he was serious but a friend of mine got his Raid sniper from Warpriest while we were doing the raid? :/ I don't know the loot table. Have fun I guess... I think I'm accurate enough, but if there's anything in this that seems off, just comment below?

8 RepliesYes. Shoot head. Kill priest. EXPECT NO LOOT. You will recieve TWO(2) Moldering Shards for you're hard work though. If you have 20, Oryx will take them, only to turn around and award you...TWO(2) Moldering Shards!!

Shoot in the head then recieve either ZERO drops OR a drop lower than what you already have, GENIUS !!!
-
Shoot him in the head with a sniper

Good communication on pillars, have someone calling out your platforms, and don't be afraid to wipe early if you don't dps enough in the first of second round. It's better than someone dropping from frustration after two go's from fails.

Designate an aura-carrier.

My biggest piece of advice, by far, is not to be afraid of switching up roles. Sometimes, as counter-intuitive as it seems, you find out that your best dmg-dealer is also best at holding the buff and taking out adds while the rest of you dps the priest. you have to prioritize comfortability with roles or the team can't function smoothly. Also... void bows do wonders

12 RepliesWhenever I see a response that So and So is easy, it tells me that person wasn't there on day 1. Anyone who did the raid at 286 light and the best weapon in their arsenal was a 290 Telesto would not say that the Warpriest is essy. Yes, the Warpriest is easy now at 300+ light with Black Spindle, but not everyone has the Spindle or ToM. Believe it or not, there are guys who still haven't made it to 290 light on their first character. Doesn't make them scrubs and doesn't make those of us that have those things any better. All these "Warpriest is easy" guys will be on patrol or hanging out in the Tower while the rest of ys are battling it out on Hard Mode.

Shoot him in the head. I think it's best to have two people at each plate. One leaves one of the sides to do the call out. Each pair will have one player designated to take the plate. Since the person to hit the last plate gets the aura, you don't want that person to be one of your main damage dealers. If three players have black spindle (or whatever high damage weapon), the other person in the pair should grab the aura. Simple enough and helps maximise dps.

As my group likes using middle pillar for cover, we have me leave a bit early on first phase to jump up behind left pillar. The group continues fire until the oculus. They then jump out to left and die while left pillar gets vaporized. I revive everyone an we use middle pillar for cover the second phase and if he dont get finished then, we use right pillar last and kill him.

Low blow Cozmo some of us aren't that dumb, and this is proof you guys have run out of original ideas and just try to counter what we come up with
