Why does no one care that Oryx is dead?

Recently like many other guardians I devoted a good amount of time, patience, and sanity to trenching through the new raid to get to Oryx and went toe to toe with his newly roided out self featuring his "Guardians Light Clapper™" ( side note: what's with Hive gods doing generally unthreatening gestures to kill us, pointing with Crota, clapping with Oryx, what's next? Are they going to wave us to death?) Anyways, with a lot of team wipes and frustration I finally killed Oryx and watched his decaying corpse float off in to space as my fire team and I came to terms with exactly how long it's been since we've last moved out limbs. We then all headed back to the tower to be greeted by a huge celebration. There were fireworks and banquets and dancing, for we finally silenced the biggest threat to our survival and possibly the survival of any living sentient being in the universe! Oh wait, right. I forgot. None of that happened. Hell, no one at the tower seemed to give two shits about this HUGE achievement. Even Eris was unenthusiastic. She just said " Finally their screams fall silent". I mean for -blam!-s sake she nearly had an orgasm when you killed the darkblade, but you banish Oryx living and taken and you get a half ass "woo" and a pat on the back? There's not even a cut scene! If you've done the raid you know how pain staking it is to find random people and not only get along with them but also synchronize your every move with them, and I find it so strange that you return to the tower, the last surviving humans, and you just saved all of them, and they don't care at all. I mean the the Black Heart at least had a small congregation of people clapping while you talked to some robot that handed you a pulse rifle that was taking up one of her slots, but nothing for Oryx. It adds this feeling that what you just did really didn't matter, and it kind of sucks. There's so much wasted potential in the public areas. For instance, as I mentioned earlier, there could have been a cut scene as you went back to the tower after completing the raid. It would add a visual achievement to correlate with the physical achievement of beating the raid and really drive home a feeling of accomplishment, and that would be huge for players. We want to have problems to solve, but we also want to feel like what we did was actually a problem. Also a change in theme or ascetic would be awesome. The Reef could have injured soldiers being ushered around, broken ships could be being worked on, there could be a memorial for their queen even. The City could have gone under attack from the taken and the tower in turn was reinforced with guards. Or vice versa. Also speaking of The City, why have we never seen the civilians? Aren't they one of the main reasons we are fighting? From what I understand from the grimoire the civilians think guardians are space zombies, which isn't far off, but there could be some real interesting conflicts with The City. You have to take out a rogue squad of taken from the civilian streets while they are not only running from the taken but terrified of you. It would add a human aspect to your character with a sense of internal conflict. Are you this great guardian, protector of the light, or this super powered space freak. There could have been an attack on the tower itself! There could have been a mission that changed the layout of the tower for you to look ragged and broken down, bringing the conflict close to home and giving it a huge sense of priority. This all can be done with a cutscene, some new lines from npcs, and a new skin for the tower, and it would have been so huge for the player. As it stands now there isn't anything really compelling about killing Oryx. All you get left with is a ".... Guys... I did the thing..... Anyone?" And nothing feels concluded. There's not even a cliffhanger for a new potential threat! Like you kill Oryx and when you go to orbit you see his corpse falling to Saturn from the inside of a ship, and then a huge cabal hand clenches his fist and smashes some controls on the dashboard. Something, really anything for us to be excited to keep playing, and the fact that all these great chances for story telling, character development, and player emersion are all missing are really hitting Destiny in their giant glowing crit spot, because these things are holding Destiny back from transforming from a good game, to a great game. What do you guys think about the lack of care about the fall of Oryx? What do you think is missing from this expansion? I'd love to hear your guy's thoughts. Also side note: how many of you think there should be a clapping gesture drop from the raid?

I'm starting to feel like the raids aren't even canon, like they never really happened in your storyline 1) First off VoG had absolutely no context 2) Any new player wouldn't even have access to the Crota raid until 3 levels after Oryx invades and is all mad you killed in son; which would mean destroying the crystal is how you actually killed Crota chronologically 3) You destroy the crystal holding Crotas soul, but you summon Crota by standing next to the crystal holding Crotas soul. 4) Everyone congratulates you on killing Oryx when you beat the main story (even though he's clearly still alive, apparently completing the raid doesn't make him any more dead to the vanguard) 5) In the mission Paradox, Ikora says killing Atheon was the Vanguards greatest achievement. This is the only time in any dialogue when you are not personally credited for having done something.
