Almost EVERY game has some kind of micro-transaction like this. As they've said it won't impact the gameplay in any way, so if you don't like it then don't buy it, it's a pretty simple concept really.

Oh, you think people buying emotes for probably like 2-4$ each is going to grant you any kind of, "quality", "free" content ? Highly doubtful. Look at what we got for $20. Both of the previous dlc's were pretty much shit. However, people think purchasing these lower priced cosmetic items is going to grant you guys anything near a $20 dlc ? That's hilarious and being EXTREMELY naive. People put way too much trust into this developer. They might throw out maybe a handful of exotics, maybe a quest line here or there, and maybe a mission or two. Hey, technically it's "free" content lmfao. But you guys will praise it with everything you have in you for whatever reason, is beyond me. It's obnoxious how quickly people will jump to get these things. If you think bungie and Activision needs MORE money to fund small content like that, you're delirious as hell. Look at the money made from launch. Look at the money made from TDB. Look at the money made from HoW. Look at the money made from TTK. Not including the bonus' offered from buying certain TTK dlc packs. Look at the contract between bungie and Activision. If bungie makes certain milestones that get VERY large bonus'. One for example, was a $25m bonus for reaching acceptable ratings from gaming critics. But yeah, you guys are right, they need petty money from petty microtransactions to help fund the "free" content. If you guys are going to try and defend something, atleast educate yourselves before you come up with bullshit arguments trying to defend every single move that bungie decides to make.

Same people who complain about it are probably League of Legends players. A worldwide phenomenon of a game which is driven 100% by money gained from micro transactions. All of the largest games have MTX. And like the OP said: Don't like it, don't buy it. Like 90% of the players here, if this game ever became P2W, I wouldn't play it anymore.

But the truly inspiring part of their uneducated and inexperienced babble is the name calling: crybabies and entitled are the two I've seen most. Without a wit, let alone business or consumer acumen this - legendary - cohort claims to know all, right before shuffling off to their box lifting, burger flipping, mall trolling gigs. Among so many other things, you're begging Bungie to focus on fluff. I'm glad you have a better Titan moves and a bigger Warlock wardrobe than you will at home - in real life. Scrubs indeed.

When I read Deej's announcement his post had less than 300 comments. The moment I read I was immediately like "oh no, the forums are going to explode again". No more than 5 minutes later I see 10 top posts about people yelling about micro-transactions.

I can't imagine they'd pull what turtle rock did with Evolve and charge $7 for a shader (skin). I can't figure out how people think this will go pay to win. Emotes won't affect gameplay aside from occasionally laughter... So chill out people Yes I know you think it will move to guns and armour next which will be play to win... But really, this has already kind happened: each expansion (which cost money) has come with a variety of higher level guns and armour. So your "nightmare" scenario already exists, and it hasn't broken the game yet. Also, Deej's update says your going to get some "silver" for free. So everyone should get a little something new.

Destiny will not sell guns and armor for cash value. It would destroy the game *looks left looks right* or would it help with the 14 and under population? Yes , yes I say pay to win (the salts taste so good)!!!
