Don't quit just because it is taking to long. If someone is trying to rush their way through, then let them leave if you get frustrated enough. This is someone who ran the raid for almost 9 hours today (10A to 7P) and I joined about 4 raid groups by the time I finished Oryx. A group will eventually come along that is fun to play and will let you enjoy the raid in all of its difficulty.
And of course, communication is key.

Where do you look for groups? New to raids - looking for best practice
-
Honestly, i look for people who are patient. You wont know who you get until you actually start talking to them in game, or until you have had to wipe a part a couple of times. Those who want a quick completion will not stick around if you keep having to wipe. Just look for people who enjoy playing the game to play the game. If you are on the Xbox One, you can shoot me a message and I will help you run through the raids when I get some downtime. I am always down to help people out with learning the game

I would - I'm on PSN though. I meant where do you find raid partners? Your clan? Destiny LFG? Random tower invites?
-
I just use the forums personally. I feel like LFG is too much for a casual player like me so I just post to a few posts here in the raid category and it doesn't take long to get a group together.

I'll give that a shot sometime. Thank you!

No problem and good luck!

Lol found a guy who was leaving raids after two tries like wtf we won't beat it immediately we haven't even gotten used to each other We beat it in 4 more runs

Yeah, one of the pairs we invited played to tries with wipes and said "this -blam-ing fireteam sucks and isn't getting anywhere" when he messed up and left in a huffy mood. I don't know why people have to be like that man.
