I was just cruising around the moon when I started hearing this weird low-pitch sound. I was at the area between Archer's line and Anchor of light, where there's literally no enemies. I heard that the low sound was an indicator of a piece of sleeper simulant being near, and that pocket infinity had something to do with it, so I took it out and basically started shooting at random places to see what happened. I hit a point on top of one of the rocks almost in the out of bounds area and pointed it straight at the broken satellite in the sky. Then something weird happened. Pocket infinity usually fires in rapid succession in its full auto mode, but this time it fired in slow, 1 second intervals. Then, after a certain point of me moving it around some more, it shot really slowly, then stopped at one anno left in the mag and didn't shoot again. It just stayed in place, looking ready to fire, but not doing anything. This is the exact way a radar works if you replace it from speeding up as you got close to treasure, to slowing down. I don't have one of the relics on me, so that was as far as I got, but please! Someone confirm this so I know its not a coincidence!
Edit: I'm uploading a video for proof. I'll have the link up shortly. You can even hear the low-pitched music if you have headphones on.
Edit 2: Here's the link- https://youtu.be/mPoGiODuTF8
Edit 3: So a lot of people are saying that the PI has a glitch where it shoots slowly if you shoot it at the sky in general. I tried it out, and turns out it did the same thing there as well. I don't know if that means anything, but I appreciate all the comments and advice you guys are giving.

it's been glitched for some time i deleted that gun months back and for some reason it never appeared on my blueprint list for y2. i guess you had to currently have one for it to change over? not just the grimore

Pocket infinity is buggy af. Sometimes it slows down its fire rate or doesn't fire. Go use it in pvp and it'll get you killed by doing the same thing you just described. Ain't no sleeper stimulant parts in pvp.

That satellite is where the Taniks strike is isn't it?
-
Sorry man, I don't know if you're onto anything with the shooting thing. That happened to me before the ttk patch was even released, I'm pretty sure its just a bug
-
Just tested. Can confirm it works on the moon, but more importantly PI fires just fine on earth. See you on the moon.

Pocket infinity is a glitch gun. I refuse to believe that a gun that can only be obtained through the RNG of a legacy engram would be related to a quest. The thing is too... you didn't find anything but noise, which I have heard before on the moon without Pocket equipped. It's a cool theory don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's going to pan out. I'm going to laugh when we all realize you just have to be like rank 10 or something with the gunsmith lol.

It does that anywhere you shoot in the air

I can confirm that the pocket infinity does indeed shoot slower in this area. the question now is why?

Bump 4 later.

It did this for me when I was near the gatelord portal on Venus

Stop huffing the helium filaments!

Bump?

I doubt this is related to SS but what was happening with PI in your video is mega weird. The ammo regening is weirder than the fire rate changing because PI has shown to be kind of buggy but I still don't think the ammo would regen the way it was even if the mulligan perk was somehow glitched. I really couldn't hear any noise in the video other than what I consider ambient noise.

This has to something. Cant wait to try it out. Were you on patrol?

Op is clearly not a day one player if he thinks this is new from pocket infinity lol I'm guessing pieces of the gun are all over crucible since pocket infinity would do that all the time lol
