I was just cruising around the moon when I started hearing this weird low-pitch sound. I was at the area between Archer's line and Anchor of light, where there's literally no enemies. I heard that the low sound was an indicator of a piece of sleeper simulant being near, and that pocket infinity had something to do with it, so I took it out and basically started shooting at random places to see what happened. I hit a point on top of one of the rocks almost in the out of bounds area and pointed it straight at the broken satellite in the sky. Then something weird happened. Pocket infinity usually fires in rapid succession in its full auto mode, but this time it fired in slow, 1 second intervals. Then, after a certain point of me moving it around some more, it shot really slowly, then stopped at one anno left in the mag and didn't shoot again. It just stayed in place, looking ready to fire, but not doing anything. This is the exact way a radar works if you replace it from speeding up as you got close to treasure, to slowing down. I don't have one of the relics on me, so that was as far as I got, but please! Someone confirm this so I know its not a coincidence!
Edit: I'm uploading a video for proof. I'll have the link up shortly. You can even hear the low-pitched music if you have headphones on.
Edit 2: Here's the link- https://youtu.be/mPoGiODuTF8
Edit 3: So a lot of people are saying that the PI has a glitch where it shoots slowly if you shoot it at the sky in general. I tried it out, and turns out it did the same thing there as well. I don't know if that means anything, but I appreciate all the comments and advice you guys are giving.

Just gonna leave this here so maybe we can get everyone back on the right track. I've seen some very wild ideas. Wild. m.imgur.com/xRyFlIH
Even the initial acquisition of the quest line comes from a clue you find somewhere hidden in the Destiny universe.
Sorry guys, this is nothing. Just went and checked it out myself. That glitch happens anywhere under the right circumstances. But I personally still think PI has something to do with it.
-
Alright that does seem weird!

Edited by DjNormal: 10/3/2015 3:55:35 PMThe slow firing and "jamming" was a bug they introduced during one of the patches in TDB. It may be something else, but it could just be that glitch. It should go away with one of three conditions: reloading, swapping the weapon out with another secondary and re-equipping it or going to orbit and back. It was occasionally very persistent. I have always found the flavor text about it being a "doorway" interesting. Though, I assume that's referring to the re-firing missed shots via a vex-tech time loop within the weapon. Looking at the video, it does look like the glitch. Although it's extra glitchy with the variable rate of fire. However, it sped up its shots when it was aimed in several different directions, not just when you aimed at one specific point.

I just made the same on a random location mars... Its a glitch...
-
People are getting way too conspiracy-theorist about this sort of shit.

Edited by ryn0129: 10/3/2015 4:38:01 PMIt's legit guys went to the same location and held trigger down, when you aim at rocks to left it fires faster
-
Even if this doesn't mean anything, the idea that pocket infinity and sleeper stimulant are related is still valid. Think about it...the description on PI reads "You just can't shake the feeling that this is less of a weapon than it is a key..." That has to mean something.

Glitch.
-
If only the ammo returning was as effective in the field as it was staring at the satellite... :/
-
-
That's a glitch
-
Bullshit Bungie lets us dismantle weapons like this :( such a noob move
-
This is really unusual... I remember I had the same problem when the firing slowed down but that was from constantly firing and reloading. Maybe it can be a tracker. & have you thought of going into the hive? (Underground)
-
All you people questioning this watch the video! It's to consistent to just be a glitch!
-
How did it keep picking up ammo?

Edited by Magebanker: 10/3/2015 4:14:06 PMThat low pitched sound has been around since vanilla.. lmao
-
Hmmm thats strange, try it in some other placed
-
Umm you can change the firing by letting off the trigger
-
Bump for later
-
Actualy i have admitted to hearing the same noises. But at almost all the planets/destinations. I will say they are odd. And at first, wearing my headphones, it freaked the shit outta me
-
The kicker here is the PI and the SS both have the same symbol on the side of them? What's up with that. .
-
This is because PI was broken at the last nerf. Mine jammed all the time just like you described way before TTK came out
-
I think its a glitch
-
-blam!- the PI ammo bug. What about the low pitched sound?
-
That happens every time you shoot into empty air with it.
