I was reading the Book of Sorrows from beginning to end (with exception of the missing fragments yet to be discovered; went to DestinyTracker to read the final 4-5 I don't have), and noticed a peculiar thing. In the beginning, the three offspring of the Osmium King are referred to as sisters; Aurash, Xi Ro, and Sathona (see Fragment I: Predators). However, in Fragment X: Immortals and the Fragment XI: Conquerors and Fragment XII: Out of the Deep, when the Worm Gods make the pact with the three and change their names (Aurash to Auryx, Xi Ro to Xivu Arath, and Sathona to Savathun), there's a shift in how Auryx is addressed. From that point, it seems that Auryx changed from female to male, while the other two stayed as female. Has anyone else noticed this? Have I missed something? Does anyone have a thought as to why Auryx (Oryx) changed from female to male while the others stayed female?
P.S. If you haven't read the Book of Sorrows, do it. It tells of the origin of the Hive and why they do what they do. It's a sad story, but it's what molds Oryx into who he is and why he does what he does.

Yes, Oryx was once Aurash, a female.

2 RepliesNot reading all that but going by title. Someone told me Hive are considered female when they're younger and become male as they get stronger? idk, but that's the gist
