Killed Oryx with 20 Moldering Shards..
...And didn't get an extra reward, but yet still redeemed my 20 Moldering Shards, has this happened to anyone else? It's weird because yesterday as my Hunter I beat Oryx with 20 Moldering Shards again and got Skyburners Annex, Darkhollow Chiton, and Doom of Chelchis. But today with my Titan it redeemed 20 Moldering Shards and only gave me chest piece..

It says at least 20 smoldering shards. Try getting 15 or more hadium flakes so when you're at rank five Eris you can buy a shitload. I beat oryx my 1st time and had 47 smoldering shards. Got the auto rifle and ghost.

One chest piece is better than the 2 moldering shards I got for turning in 20 moldering shards. Yes the loot reward system is broken.

1 ReplyFirst time i ran it with not enough shards I got 2 pulse rifles. 2nd time i ran it with 20 shards and got 2 shards and the shotgun.. Took my 20 shards too.

The description for the shards that says "better rewards" is a bit misleading. It seems to give you one extra pull at the same slot machine. The other day my TM got nothing and I got 3 gun drops all on oryx. We both had over 20 shards get used up.

5 RepliesHaving 20 shards adds another drop from a previous fight to the Oryx loot table, some of those bosses drop shards. Therefore you can have shards added to your Oryx loot drop. This was mentioned by Luke Smith on the PD podcast. Bump so people can spread this!

6 RepliesEdited by CWRM: 10/7/2015 6:09:20 AMThe way the shards work is pretty simple: If you have 20 shards when you beat oryx, they are redeemed and you get an extra drop. The extra drop can be anything from the raid, as opposed to oryx's usual drop pool of only primary weapons (and shards). Aside from that, nothing changes, and the extra drop does have a small chance of being shards.
