Edit #obvious: clearly people can't read or don't want to. NEVER did I say you can't do it at 290 light. you still easily can my whole point here is saying that it makes sense and it's fair for 300 only groups to be a thing. 290 groups exist too, so you can spend your time there and work up the 300 groups. i cannot make this any clearer
***please note: to everyone calling me a d-Bag please note that the first day TTK came out i was the one with the huge post about HOW TO GET YOUR LIGHT UP past 290. I'm merely saying i think it's fair for there to be 300+ only groups. Would you want anyone in the NFL? No. Only top rated players. Are all top rated players amazing? No. It's all the luck of the draw :)
What people don't understand is the <300's trying to sneak in with the 300's are really the selfish ones. You need to grind it out and learn it with other 290's like the rest of us did. It's more fun. Who just wants to be carried all the time?
For the last two weeks I haven't cared and I've carried people, but when you spent 3 hours on death singers and 5 hours on oryx it just isn't fair.
I've done my time, same with the other 300's. We've learned the mechanics and it's only fair the >300's to play with each other to learn it.
Case and point I ran the entire raid twice in 2 hours 45 mins with all >300's. That's more like it.
Go ahead call me an elitist but I never had requirements the whole time in destiny, it's not the light I'm concerned with, it's the experience and the fact that it tells me that you've been able to successfully run the raid multiple times.
Edit: it's not the light! You can do it with lower light! It's the princIple. High light = multiple completions = smooth and fast run.
Benefits of high light however:
War priest in two rounds
Golgoroth in half the time
Death singers clean
Oryx in 3 bombs
Edit two: RNG doesn't equal skill. Chances are if you're 305 you've run it at least 3+ times. That's my point friends.
It seems like people are starting to understand what I'm saying and agreeing finally :) not trying to offend anyone and I look forward to playing with everybody
