if I was in charge of plans for the nerfing, I would choose to lower all black spindles by 20 Attack Damage, this way they are all where they are supposed to be and if they have been infused (for example; let's say from 300 to 308) then it would be taken back to 288 and it would still be where it would have been if they dropped at the correct attack damage

That still wouldn't be right. If I infuse a 300 from the kiosk with a 307 it ends up at 305ish. Now your drop it to 285? That just doesn't work because even if it had been 280 to start that 307 infuse would put it over 300.

yes that is correct but seeing that it originally would have been at 290 rather than 310 because of the glitch, then my theory would be correct

Edited by JBO: 9/30/2015 9:32:31 AMNo even if I infuse a 290 with that 307 it would still end up over 300. Basically they would be causing peoples raid weapons to be wasted after they made a post saying go ahead and infuse its all good. My guess is this is the reason the damage hasn't been changed yet. I know a lot of people who would be mad as hell that raid drops essentially disappeared because Bungie made a mistake.

I'm a bit confused, I'm talking about only the black spindle. Say for example my BS (Black Spindle) is at 310 because I got it from the daily heroic, I then buy a 300 BS from the blueprints, now I infuse my 300 BS to roughly 307 using my 310 BS then using my method of nerfing it would bring down my originally 300 BS down to 280 (how it was supposed to be if it was purchased from the vendor at the correct attack). But then because it had been infused and gained 7 extra attack then it would be brought down only by 20 attack so therefore it would go to 287. I hope that came across as clear as it did in my head. Thinking about it now, I hear what you are saying as; "I'm going to infuse my 310 raid sniper into my 300 BS" and then that would get nerfed down to 287 and I can see now that using that method of nerf would completely render using the raid weapon "strategy" useless. Maybe what would be done is, take what attack had it started at 300(280) and then if it had been infused with a higher attack weapon (let's say 310), the new attack value would be what it would be like to infuse a 310 weapon with the 280 one. I hope that made sense, sorry for the wall of text.

Yeah you got the point I was making there at the bottom. My guess is how complicated the solution for that is is the main reason we are yet to see the change.

yeah, I don't know hopefully they get it right or there would be a lot of upset people.

at least it wouldn't be taking all of them back down to 290 or 280.
-
It's a drop so it would be at 290 and if they infused it it would be above 290
-
but you can't infuse it after 310. I think there is a bit of confusion here.
