2 RepliesOryx is dead, but that doesn't mean the God worm inside of him is.
-
1 Replyhe called himself a god and hive worshiped him as a god but he wasn't actually a god
-
After you blow his heart out and his body floats away in space with no sign of life Yeah Im sure he's still alive
-
5 RepliesOryx is super for real dead. If you read Book of Sorrow L (50) called Wormfood, he basically says, and I'm paraphrasing slightly: "Imma drag my whole fockin dick through space and fight these -blam!-s straight up, cause I'm all about that green $$$$$$ but if they wanna tussle they can come to my spaceship-come-throneworld that my boys hooked me up with, and if they can get past my smokin hot daughters I'll fight them! If I lose that fight, being at max power in the physical realm, then I'm -blam!-ed m8, for realsies!" Or something like that.

He's dead Jim.
-
Probably not
-
I don't believe he's truly dead til you kill him in hard mode
-
He is dead, but at the same time, he isn't. In the Book of Sorrows, it explains that Ascendant Hive can only die if killed in their Throne Worlds. Auryx kills his two sisters in order to gain the power to kill Akka, one of the worm gods. Afterwards, Auryx is able to recall his two sisters from oblivion. By waging war, which is Xi Ro's embodiment, he summoned Xi Ro. By betraying Xi Ro with cunning, he resummoned Sathona, who embodied cunning. When Xi Ro and Sathona trap Auryx in the Deep, Xi Ro summons Auryx back because she knows that Auryx is the most powerful, and is needed for them to continue their crusade. Xi Ro summons Auryx by imagining Auryx in his entirety. Since Auryx is the embodiment of Exploration and Understanding, it is technically only possible for Xi Ro and Sathona to summon Auryx from oblivion - because only they can truly understand Auryx.

Read the book of sorrows Oryx says he moved he's Throne room into the Dreadnaught and the only way to kill a hive god is to kill them in there throne room so Yep he is dead
-
His soul will move onto another realms just like crotas was going to but we stopped it.

1 ReplyWow knows? He could've been knocked out only to be picked up by the vex.
-
2 RepliesMaybe, maybe not. There are 2 different achievements, however; one for normal Kings Fall clear, and one for hard Kings Fall clear. The latter I believe is titled 'Long Live the King'. Take that as you will.

2 RepliesDid you ever find Calcified Fragment XX? It's sitting next to this Hive crystal in the Dreadnought. When Ghost scans it, he remarks about its use as a tomb for Hive beings who are waiting for resurrection through the sacrifice of other, lesser beings. The crystal itself, Ghost says, was marked for sacrifice. If you read the Books of Sorrow, they tell us that Auryx killed his sisters to gain their power, by the logic of the sword, and become Oryx. Later, when he made war on another civilization, Xivu Arath returned, for war is in Xivu Arath's nature. When Oryx tricked another civilization into a false alliance against Xivu Arath, he turned on them and slaughtered them all. This brought about the revival of Savathun, for the sharp cunning Oryx displayed in his deception is of Savathun's nature. Thus, these Hive entities were reborn. Oryx, First Navigator, seems bereft of such a distinct characteristic, though. His curiosity has not left him, but curiosity is in many places and yet he has not resurrected beyond the King's Fall raid. Perhaps we still do not fully understand the mechanics of Hive power. Time will tell.

He'll be back in the Hard Mode.
-
He disintegrated in space. I'd say ded.
-
2 RepliesHe'll be back. As far as I can remember, he is the only organic (At least I think) Ultra enemy to not disintegrate into flames after dying. (Possibly the other bosses in the raid too, as somehow Ir Yût is still alive??) However, we did rip out his heart and shove it into the Touch of Malice so...
-
He's truly dead. We kill him in the the material world. In the raid we kill him in his throne world, which is the only way to truly kill him.
-
The thing is it's hard to say remembering back to Toland's journal there's a mention about hive and death. If it doesn't kill you makes you stronger, then how does that work at the face of immortality? This simple line to me expanded the way to see death for the hive. What happens when they die? Do they even die?
-
4 RepliesOnly until weekly reset. Then he magically reappears. Same with Crota and Atheon. :/
-
As long as they do not bring back skolas... And poe ...
-
I would be insanely pissed if destiny yet again, recycled old enemies, old bosses, etc... Like how hard is it to create something new.
-
The idea why we can kill him is based on a sword logic. Sword logic is based off of a theory that what you kill gives you strength. We killed Atheon and his minions which gave us strength. We killed Crota and his lackies which built upon that strength. Killing Oryx's lieutenants proved us worthy to even hurt him. So yea the undead army of traveler is strong.

10 bucks the vex screw with time and bring him back in he next/future dlc
-
We killed Oryx in his throne world. As he floated to Saturn, he entered a "cocoon phase". So in theory, he is dead for now. But much in the same way Oryx defined his sisters to revive them, I think they could define Oryx to return his life.
-
5 RepliesAfter we killed Oryx his worm began eating him from the inside out. As he floats towards Saturn he is entering the so called "cocoon phase". Im assuming one day we will be expecting to meet up with the remnants of Oryx or even worse. His sisters.
