Question: should Sunbreakers have a reduction in armour while their super is activated?
Edit: most people say the armour needs a slight decrease
Some say nerf the speed or hammers themselves
Some say they will withhold judgement until they actually use the class
One intelligent person highlighted something pretty on point...

Titan has very little going for it when it's not using a super compared to the other classes. People just maybe should consider that.
"Titan skating" may be fast but has very little mobility. You're an easy to hit target moving in a straight line that's lighting yourself up so people can see you clearly.
AvailableHandle posted a video link that clearly shows the one man wrecking crew that is hammer of sol http://imgur.com/dSh8CMF?desktop=1
MSR9889 has the most perfect take on this:
2 sniper head shots, golden gun, two rockets, two sword hits, two shotgun shots and a melee, 3 arc blade hits are all things that should kill any class at any time. Period.
You can deal with the mobility or the duration or the 7 hammers or the range or the health regen or the absurd splash damage but when you add all those to the damage buff, it's pretty ridiculous.
As someone who will charge any other super when I hear it activate, hammer is unbalanced. Don't care if it's nerfed but don't act like it's not OP.
reduce their armor and i'm fine

Kdr sucks because I'm an alcoholic but million + medal score

I'm not that good but Titan in general should be a little more tank out of super and a bit less tank during it. They should be tank but shouldn't be able to survive anything that one hits everything else. Pve should be left alone but defense in crucible should be reduced just a tad
-
Other than fixing the blatant glitch banning people that allows you to throw 40 hammers, I only see that might have an armor nerf incoming, honestly it's easy to avoid the hammers and they get only 7 max so I don't see them being a problem it's just people are whining about being unable to just headshot or shotgun them down, which I don't see being much of a problem if you just avoid the loudest super in the game now or team up on them. I don't really see a nerf as viable unless they succumb to all those people complaining In all honesty I'm baffled with this response to sunbreakers I'd expect more people to talk about stormcaller more as in pvp that has a much higher kill potential being 12 people

2 Repliesno idea what the question is, just came hoping i could get someone to check my medal score lol

All subclass supers should get a system similar to flame shield in my opinion. Only that the shield begins to regen after a short time. Not only does it provide a small damage reduction, but it provides a easier way for other supers to counter other supers, but still makes them able to tank some more regular bullets.

It's fine how it is, strong super weak passive abilities

The radius of the hammers explosion is also OP.

A small nerf to armor and the amount of throwable hammers. Nothing else.

Edited by ShizRizGrizDiz: 9/29/2015 12:36:16 PMI posted in another thread why theyre not OP...let me find it and copy paste. As a player with high cruc score and decent K/D, who does play as Sumbreaker, im going to give you points compared to other Supers and as to why its fine.
Please stop. All you whiners in PvP about a Super being OP need to stop. You're only ruining the PvE experience. Lets look at some facts shall we? A Sunbreaker can only throw 5 hammers. 7 if theyre using the perk that allows more hammer throws. However, those numbers are Max throws. Meaning they have to chuck constantly from activation of super. Dont forget that sometimes you waste most of your super running around. Making less throws available. Fun fact: Die by hammer, dont respawn right away and reenter combat just to get hammered again, think smartly! A Hammer is just like Golden Gun. It can get up to 4+ kills. But again, Hammer throws are based on Super energy. So, more time running around, less throws. Yes a single hammer can kill 3 people close together, but so can many other things. If a whole team is together then yeah, Hammer can kill them all, just like Stormcaller, Bladedancer. Have you even tested if they really have a damage resistance just based on Super? And that maybe everyone youre fighting is using the Armor that increases Armor when using a Solar based subclass? Also, whether they do have a damage resistance or not standalone, they just have to kill you and boom! Health regeneration. And lets not forget how i started this comment. With the bold word, Super. It's meant to be OP! Its an ability you only get 1-2 times a game based on how good you are to kill enough for it. And within those activations, a player can or can not get a whole lot of kills. Just like any other super like Stormcaller, Bladedancer, or Gunslinger. Its just based around how well you find people, whether your teammates get the kill first, or whether the other team plays smart. Again, if you dont want to keep dying by hammers, if you do die, just wait out the 10 second spawn to waste as much time of the enemies supers. But stop wasting PvE experiences!
Edited by Sam: 9/29/2015 12:00:49 PMI think it's gotten to the point where they are going to do something about it. I think it should be like (as you said) 2 sniper shots, few shotty shots, or another super that it is weak to besides bow.

3 RepliesWhy should anyone be able to go toe to toe with another user using thier super and win without using thier own super or have some plan to either disable them, or thier super, and expect to win? Unless they seriously think everyone but them ate an extra large bowl of crayons for breakfast this morning...
-
1 ReplyNot really considering if it was a Golden Gun you'd be dead quicker and easier than the hammer being thrown
-
If damage reduction was nerf, golden gun would win and hunters would spam golden gun and everyone would cry for a buff or nerf to golden gun. No matter what bungie does someone is gonna whine and bitch, there is no true balance.

Blade dancers have no way of boosting their defense. Sun breakers have ridiculously high defense and they get sun spot to boost it even more. The New subclass just need compromises.

Edited by chill: 9/29/2015 11:54:56 AMOnly thing I'd like to see changed is that I should be able to kill a hammer titan with a single high impact sniper headshot. That's the only change. Everything else is fine.
-
The only problem I have is they take too much to kill they should have the same damage reduction as radiance or blade dancer no more no less
-
are fags
-
Edited by Jolt: 9/29/2015 11:42:48 AMOnly thing that is wrong is the damage reduction. Also, few people look at the class as a whole, most people just look at the supers
-
4 RepliesArmor reduction to match Bladedancers seems fair, they can barely die since everyone uses cauterize
-
3 RepliesEverything about sunbreaker is fine, the only thing that needs to be changed is (like everyone with a logical mind is saying) the armor. A high impact sniper shot to the head around LDR archetype should down a sunbreaker at full health just like it does bladedancers and sunsingers. A GG shot should take down a sunbreaker just like it does the other two mobile supers. Titans are supposed to be the most armored class, but surviving that stuff is definitely OP.
-
1 ReplyIt's kinda like the whole 'why doesn't Gunslinger get armor' argument. They did just fine without armor, Titans should still have to learn how to not jump in front and get shot like an idiot, just like Gunslingers do. On the other hand, I really like Sunbreakers in the raid.
-
8 RepliesNo it doesn't. Sunbreaker is a class that is well shaped the only reason why it's considered OP is because everyone else (mostly everyone) is using the new subclasses. Nightstalker can cancel the Sunbreaker with it's super. Storm caller can use blind to easily dodge too. It isn't over powered it's just people don't like seeing titans having a duration ability because it's not liked but the amount of titans in the crucible are low compared to hunters and Warlocks.
-
3 RepliesDamn, I only have a 1.6 kd :/ my opinion doesn't matter here.
-
For sure the hammer glitch should be fixed. I would like them to have a health reduction but that's just a biased opinion since I love head shotting supers with my sniper. It would be better if the receive some sort of slight nerf but if not, I really don't think I would care too much.
