3 of Coins Farming not work on Dust Palace or Shield Brothers?
I've noticed that for me anyway, when I use 3 of Coins LEGITMATELY (at beginning of strikes to start and after I kill a boss and the buff disappears AND NOT cheesing), I don't get any exotic drops on shield brothers or the dust palace. I'm guessing the additional ultras cause the exotic drop rate to lower due to more than one ultra. Might just be bad RNG for me but I have yet to see one drop for me on those strikes.
Anyone else get this issue?
Regardless if I'm doing exotic farming I skip those now.
Edit: Huhumoe and others have told me that Rockets Mcdickface doesn't drop either. Another person told me the dust palace bosses are actually majors. So if shield brothers doesn't drop exotics then essentially half the strikes are pointless if you are exotic farming???
Edit: some people say they have gotten drops on shield brothers but it seems that there are those that get it on first brother killed and others on second brother killed.
Edit: so consensus is Mcdickface is glitched, psion flayers are actually majors though they have ultra symbols, and it seems mixed which brother can drop exotics with it being first or second.
Edit: one theory about flayers is that it was initially a story mission that got buffed up but the bosses are still majors which is why 3oC doesn't work.
Edit: wow. 37 replies when I checked this morning. I love that 99% are positive or helpful. Thanks for being helpful everyone save the one lovely person who apparently can't read or spell.
Edit: the champion taken will count as ultras either in patrol or in strike with valus when it replaces the tank.

Shield Brothers works, but the first boss doesn't drop loot, so you have to use it before killing the 2nd one, and the Dust Palace doesnt work because the Psions count as majors, not ultras.

I was running shield brothers earlier. Got to the end with all three of us having popped the three of coins. One of my teammates got an exotic engram and legendary off of the first. The other got an exotic off of the second. The first one got an exotic out of the legendary engram as well. I didn't get shit. So yeah it works but you're putting your faith in small numbers..

Edited by Bellatrix: 9/29/2015 12:32:49 AMPsions aren't majors and the Cerberus vai strike got bugged when bungie patched the coin farming. All ultras have the little skull to the left of their health bar if anyone wasn't sure. :)

4 RepliesI got one off the Shield Bros....of course it turned out to be No Backup Plans :( I have noticed, though, that some bosses don't use the coin. I can load one, kill a boss, and go to my screen and it still shows up like I didn't just kill a boss.

This afternoon I got a year 2 last word from body slam brother, nothing from the second though. Also dropped 2 exotics from the taken champion that spawns in the Scablands on Mars. That's 2 at once not one after another, in case that isn't clear. Never had that happen before. The void fang vestments were pretty sweet, the 4th invective.... not so much. Still 3 exotics within a few hours is pretty sweet. Good luck hunting guardians!

1 ReplyI can confirm that both brothers count as ultras and you can get a drop from each one. Before the nerf to the coins I even used to pop a coin at start then kill one brother and pop another coin for the second. I have gotten exotics from them in different orders. The flayers have never dropped an exotic for me and I noticed that after killing one the coin buff does not go away.

Brothers work I got about 10 exotic engram's from TOC from brothers

Works just fine. I just pop a 3 of coin after the first brother dies or when there is just one flayer left. Have gotten 4 engrams between the two strikes. Including the one that git me the Jade Rabbit.

dust palace doesnt drop....you have two chances at shield brothers. After you kill the first one hurry and use another three of coins for the second one before you kill him. Ive gotten exotics from the shield brothers

In order to get exotics on shield brothers, once you kill the red brother(John Cena), you have to pop another ToC as the both brothers are ultras. Ive gotten engrams to drop from both of them.

Did shield bros yesterday and my friends got exotics from the first bro then I popped another coin and got an exotic from the second bro

I've gotten an exotic from both John Cena and Blastoise. Shield Brothers work like every other ultra.
