Think about it. Playstation is the ideal place for MGS.The Solid series originated on the PS1. MGS 2 was the only MGS game on the original Xbox and since it was the second one I'm pretty sure not a lot of Xbox players played it. Other than that, no MGS game ever touched Xbox until the HD collection came out and the majority of Xbox players who got the Hd collection were Playstation gamers that switched to 360.
Even now, it hurts my soul when I see so many Xbox players say "MEtal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes was my first MGS game". It just pains me so much to hear that because GZ wasn't even a real game! I'd then ask "Why Ground Zeroes?" and every response is "It was free on Gold". So not only have they never played the previous games, they also have no idea what's going on in the story!
So in reality, very few actual Xbox players play MGS when you look at the numbers of the Playstation players that play it. That makes you wonder "what's the point of it being on Xbox if no one on Xbox really plays it?" One word: Money. Being honest, the only reason MGS came to Xbox at all was because Konami wanted more and more money
Even looking at the sales for The Phantom Pain, Playstation still obliterates the amount of Xbox sales. 73% of Phantom Pain copies were sold on Ps4 compared to 25% of Phantom Pain copies on BOTH Xbox consoles (The rest on PC)
My thinking is:
Metal Gear Solid is 90% appreciated by Playstation gamers
What's the point of it being on Xbox if no one on Xbox plays it?
Also, if you've played MGS on nothing but an Xbox and you enjoy it, let me know in the comments and if you want, state how you enjoy it even when MGS 1, 4 and Portable Ops are missing from the bunch
Note: NOT A CONSOLE WARS POST. Just a simple question
EDIT: Since everyone is completely ignoring this statement, I'll put it here:
I'M AWARE THAT METAL GEAR STARTED ON THE NES/NSX WHICHEVER ONE IT WAS. I SPECIFICALLY SAID THE METAL GEAR """"""SOLID"""""""" GAMES STARTED ON THE PS1. THE ORIGINAL METAL GEARS WEREN'T EVEN AVAILABLE OUTSIDE OF JAPAN AT THE TIME EITHER

1 ReplyIt must be hard being that -blam!-ing stupid.
-
It was only a ps exclusive do to the memory limitation of the n64 but they released it agian on the gamecube as twin snakes
-
If it was a ps exclusive I'd personally destroy Sony
-
Don't be shellfish with MGS. I got the HD collection for my 360 and I love it. I still play MGS 1 on my GameCube/PS1 though.
-
Some people on Xbox know the story like I do, but just because they don't know the story doesn't mean they can't enjoy the game.

Watch "Call of Duty®: Advanced Warfare 28 advanced supply drop opening" on YouTube https://youtu.be/FoSWBq21FCw

1 ReplyI played TPP first then Ground Zeroes because it was free with gold. Ground zeroes is NOTHING compares to TPP, it's even laughable
-
Couldn't care less, tomb raider was originally from ps also. I'm happy for everyone to play the games I grew up with.
-
1 ReplyApparently these people don't have reading comprehension. As for the question, I don't care. Personally I think it's great that Xbox users have access to the series. What's more is we also have access to the original games too thanks to MGS3:S. Hard as hell to play though. lol
-
2 RepliesYou're literally just screaming console fanboy. Why do you have a problem with people enjoying a game? Also, There are insane amounts of people on The Phantom Pain. I can guarantee 90% of MGSV:TPP players aren't on playstation anymore. You have no legitimate argument in this post.
-
1 ReplyMute the Sony fanboy and move on
-
That's like saying titanfall 2 shouldn't be one ps4, mass effect shouldn't be on ps3, Italian food should stay in Italy, your precious Playstation should stay in Japan, or immigrants should go back to where they are from just because they were there first.
-
tl;dr I'm a huge -blam!-ing console fag who uses exclusives in his/her pointless "which console is better" arguments
-
I only voted "yes" because i still can't play halo on my ps4 other than that i could care less
-
4 RepliesYou're forgetting one major detail. When MGS2 got ported to Xbox, it came with Konami's skateboard game where you were Snake or Raiden and were on The Big Shell. So... Your logic is invalid because Skateboard Snake would have won over any new players with his sick kick flips and Indy nosebones.

4 RepliesIt hurts me when I hear someone say MG Solid was my first Game...
-
You guys can keep it. Not my cup of tea
-
It should have, that game is mediocre at best.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Sapphire: 10/3/2015 2:20:44 AMNothing should be exclusive. If a game could be made for a lot of platforms, it should be made for as many as it can. Not wanting someone else to be able to play a game is just being an asshole.
-
lol are you 12 bro?
-
4 RepliesEdited by Regret: 9/27/2015 5:58:22 AMit should have stayed exclusive same with Tomb Raider
-
2 RepliesMetal Gear started on the nes maybe the super nes it didn't start on PlayStation so your argument from the first sentence is invalid. I think every game should be on every console if possible. Everyone should have a chance to play
-
4 RepliesBut... but The Twin Snakes was a Nintendo exclusive. Even though it was a remake of the first one. I imagine that after the horrible port of Substance on the Xbox, I'm assuming Konami didn't bother releasing a port of Subsistence. So Xbox users had to wait for the HD collection to finally play 3. Also the only reason 4 was a ps3 exclusive was because of how big the game was in gb size. Kojima said it would have probably been around 5-6 disc on the 360, so they didn't bother in releasing it on the 360.
-
I don't even play metal gear, but really? Can the Playstation fanboyism be any more obvious? The more people that have access to a game, the better.
-
Good thing about having opinions is you can have them, but thats all they are.
-
Ive played every one up to this point (xbox one, ps3) and so it does kinda bug me when people start with GZ because the whole plot is so much more complex and interesting than whats explained
