Tracking Which New Subclass Gets The Most Kills in PvP Via Destiny Tracker

EDIT: Not sure how you guys are still finding this thread (I can't find it anywhere) but for those of you trying to rub the Sunbreaker nerf in my face Bungie even said that despite having 5% more super kills than the other classes Sunbreakers K/D topped out at 1.06 just like the other classes did. So the only problem was the super, however to bring balance they would obviously have to buff the neutral game to compensate. That's exactly what they did, they gave Titans a longer melee range and gave a plethora of bonuses to Striker while reducing the health of HoS and making the hammers a little harder to land. [b]I still say that with the information Bungie gave us Sunbreakers were not op. They had the same K/D of the other top classes. But As of 9/25/2015 people are crying about Sunbreakers being too op when they aren't the best pvp class out there kill wise at all even after accounting for differences in population. (out of all ability kills in pvp) Supers: Nightstalker 5.44%, Sunbreaker 3.18%, Stormcaller 2.91% Melee: Stormcaller 3.55% Nightstalker 3%, Sunbreaker 2.73% Grenade: Nightstalker 4.57%, Stormcaller 3.93, Sunbreaker 2.41% Population: 34.2% Hunter, 33.5% Warlock 32.3% Titan 5% of Hunters are Nightstalkers 4% of Titans are Sunbreakers 4% of Warlocks are Stormcallers Analysis: There is a .06 Difference in class usage between Sunbreakers and Nightstalkers. There is a .03 Difference between Nightstalkers and Stormcallers. There is a .04 difference between Sunbreakers and Stormcallers. When we look at Supers there is a .41 difference in kills between Sunbreakers and Nightstalkers. There is a .46 difference between Nightstalkers and Stormcallers. There is a .08 Difference between Sunbreakers and Stormcallers. When we look at Melee there is a .09 difference in kills between Sunbreakers and Nightstalkers. There is a .15 difference between Nightstalkers and Stormcallers. There is a .23 difference between Stormcallers and Sunbreakers. When we look at Grenades there is a .47 difference in kills between Sunbreakers and Nightstalkers. There is a .14 difference between Nightstalkers and Stormcallers. There is a .39 difference between Stormcallers and Sunbreakers. As we can see Nightstalkers have 41% more super kills than Sunbreakers and 46% more kills than Stormcallers. Stormcallers have 15% more melee kills than Nightstalkers and 23% more than Sunbreakers. Nightstalkers have 47% more grenade kills than Sunbreakers and 14% more than Stormcallers. These results are interesting since Hunters only have 5% more users than Sunbreakers and only 2% more users than Stormcallers. Of that there are only 20% more Nightstalkers relative to their population than Sunbreakers and Stormcallers to theirs. However [b]What we see is that even despite the desparity between users Nightstalkers consistently do much better than the other three subclasses so far with the exception of melee in which Stormcallers relatively only have a slight lead. Sunbreakers on the other hand do the worst in everything with the exception of their supers in which Stormcallers are not that far behind. Can you really say Sunbreakers are that op?[/b]

  • Ooooops. You just got a big ass bitch slap from bungie... Cos 19% of SB kills are from super, and most of the other classes are 14% and SB is also the dominant Titan class. Some may argue SB is the only PVP viable class, hence not OP. Wrong, wrong, wrong. SB should not be the only viable class, hence a buff in Striker is much needed and that's exactly what Bungie did.

    • Almost every Hunter is crying about how they think Sunbreaker is op compared to Nighstalker. First thing you should do is realize you are comparing the Hunters support class against the Titans ranged assault class. If you want to cry about equality consider the Titan is still the only one with a super that can not kill anything. The bubble has uses yes but it can not kill, period. Your support class can. Also speaking of the bubble which is the Titans void class, its awfully coincidental that Bungie creates so many bounties and an exotic weapon bounty that requires kills with Void abilities. If you want to compare classes then compare support classes against support classes.

      • Sorry buddy your looking at totally irrelevant data....the only thing that really matters or would indicate whether a class may be op is k/d.....doesn't matter the amount of kills each super has....if one subclass has a drastically different k/d from the rest you could assume an issue exists.

          You must be slightly retarded if you think that just dishing out the numbers to what is used more actually counts as a counter argument to the fact that Sunbreakers are OP. Ranged super, health regen, and insane defense. All other ranged supers have very low damage resistance or none at all, while the sun breaker has the highest damage resistance. Supers are supposed to be OP, but not compared to all other supers in the game. Give it the defense of a bladedancer and it wouldn't be that bad of a nerf.

          • Another one of these posts..... These numbers only show total kills, not how much a class/subclass gets in a game on average. I'm waiting for the numbers that show which subclass, out of the new ones, gets the most super kills PER MATCH, ON AVERAGE. Because....from what I'm seeing in PvP right now, and I play it all the time, Nightstalkers are NOT getting as many kills with their supers as Stormcallers or Sunbreakers.... especially MULTI-kill supers. Mind you, I'm not calling for any nerfs here, just saying that these numbers do NOT represent what I'm seeing happen. Also, does it count towards a Nightstalkers "super kills" when someone else on their team kills one of their tethered targets? Sorry, but these numbers just don't tell the whole story, at all...

              I cant believe this thread is still running wild. For starters you cant even do a statistical analysis without normalizing anything, but aside from that... the problem (mostly) everyone is having with sunbreakers is their insanely powerful super which is next to impossible to kill and almost as hard if not harder to run away from. Nobody has once complained about how OP their grenade and melee abilities are, so I have no clue why you would bother including that in an argument against the strength of their super which doesnt even utilize either of those abilities; they are irrelevant. Youre basically just throwing inconsequential numbers at us without doing a proper analysis, and then in your "analysis" you are just trying to push your opinion (which is the last place opinions should be). And then you are surprised when there is backlash from the community? Please pass a 1st semester stats class and anything that involves critical thinking and reasoning before making more posts like this. Its painful to read when over 2 thirds of the information is unnecessary. The only this data (obviously) suggests is the warlock abilities have high killing potential, which is to be expected given their unique attributes, and that hunters are still way over played, which you also would have covered if you knew what you were doing. Tl,dr; op doesnt even include ratios, doesnt deserve to be doing stats

                • That's bizarre. Nightstalker can get a maximum of 3 (somewhat inaccurate when compared to golden gun) kills per super whilst using a perk, whilst Titans can get a maximum of 6 kills per super without using a perk.

                      • This does not take into account the fact that people deliberately make 3 dollars deferent characters, then choose to only run their Hunter in crucible, overall, the ratio of Titan Hunter warlock is split evenly, but for crucible hunters are more heavily used by a large margin.

                          I figured as much. Voidwalker still feels better for pvp. Stormtrance requires small spaces and enclosed areas to really succeed unless people don't see you coming.

                          • These statistics are always stupid and skewed. On top of more people using a hunter, what you're going off of does not account for time played which is clearly the most important thing. Take it into account that most people that main hunters are better than those that main titans. Both of the new supers will get more kills than a nightstalker. I see it every single game where a storm caller will kill at least 4 people, same with the titan.
