Why do older players hate younger players?

We were all young squeaky prepubescent kids before and back then it didn't matter if I played with an adult or someone the same age as me! But now people are so uptight they hate playing with kids because they are acting like KIDS! You can't force a kid to act 10 years above his age just because you hate the sound of his voice or his over excitement and curiosity and childish ignorance! I understand if they are yelling for no reason but if they are having a good time and just enjoying themselves and being happy I have no problems! Everyone here that Is above 18 and don't like playing with younger guys, GET OVER YOURSELVES. We are grown ups and should act accordingly! These kids are how we are supposed to be! Carefree, having fun, and just escaping reality when playing games. Honestly if you act like an old grump who conplains about working all day and just ridicules these young guys that are enjoying themselves then you need to get off the game and find something else because you are doing it for the wrong reason. I'm 18 and I've been in groups where guys just hate on these kids because they make a mistake or because they have high voices or just because they are just too excited! They are having fun and they should not be ridiculed for that. So next time I see one of you old whiners I'll say my share of words and report you for harassment. TLDR: older people need to stop complaining about younger players and find the joy in gaming again. Edit: so it seems majority of the people on here despise younger players because of the inability to play higher level content. It also seems like most of the destiny community just despise younger people because they are kids. What I am getting from you guys is that you want these kids to act like and be like 20-30 year olds when playing with older people. Hah so baffling. That is so pathetic. You expect these kids to be mature and whatever and let me tell you it doesn't matter how they are raised ALL kids play games to just enjoy themselves and live in a different mindset! When I was playing games around 10-14 years of age me and my friends would all yell into the mic and just scream stupid shit out of pure excitement because we were having FUN. You older players seem to want to bottle up their childish like mind and conform them into mature adults, which is totally wrong to just throw a kid past all the learning experiences and push him into adult like behavior. Pathetic. This community makes me sick. I hope DEEJ sees this and sees just how toxic the older ages of the fan base are. Edit: I can't believe I didn't see this sooner. I'm in utter disbelief that you guys are expecting all the young guys to be SKILLED MLG players! They are young and therefore don't really care about how good they are they only care about doing whatever they need to in whatever way they can. I've seen a young player easily handle himself in multiple strikes and ALL the raids and enjoy all of it too.On the other hand I know a young player who isn't that in tune with the game and struggles a lot but he's having a blast at the same time. It's because they both have different play styles and mindsets. The majority of kids will be like the second kid! They will struggle a lot and won't be very good with the game but you can't expect more because this is just something they hop on at school or their free time and they don't play with the mindset of becoming super good at the game they just play to have fun and just experience everything no matter how hard or easy. You will come across those who understand the game very well and wil be more skilled then most older players but that's also because they play with mindset to be GOOD and to actually complete he higher level content with less struggle because they don't like dying or anything like that. The higher level content does have a learning curve that most players will have to take a little time to adjust to it. It's just the way our brains process things. The more i talk about this the more it makes me sick. It's fine if you don't want to play with younger players but don't PENALIZE them for being YOUNG. Edit: so there is a lot of people complaining about my text walls so I have adjusted them accordingly. It seems the general conclusion is that it's either you don't like kids in general or you don't care about age and you care about skill. I totally respect these two points but the one I think we should all be seeing from instead is he skill instead of age. The whole point of this post is to not separate generations in gaming and to not create a young and old player base in game communities because that just creates toxicity and it will burn down any game because of the major difference in views. For instance if there were separate communities for destiny decided by age groups then that's a whole bunch of players not interacting with each other and not having the chance to even say a word to each other. I've met some great friend online that are 20-30 years older then me and if there was an age division then I would've never met them and lose out on those friendship. I hope some of you understand but right now all I see is a separation in the community. Make a friend. Change lives. Final edit: this is my final edit and my final thoughts on this whole situation. Destiny in reality is not going to last forever. It may not last the ten years bungie said they planned for it. But just take some time to think that while we (this is my personal games I grew up with, I am just stating this as a general assumption that most people my age and a little older have played these games) grew up with Pokemon, Mario, metroid, final fantasy, runescape, Everquest, Medal of Honor, halo, crash bandicoot, ratchet and clank, jak and daxter, fable, Need for speed, world of Warcraft, armorgames, max games, sims, and all the Star Wars games. ( there is many more but I don't want to make this whole thing a list). These kids nowadays are growing up with these games! DESTINY is their Mario. When they become the 30s and 40s of the gaming community they will remember this game and they will eventually turn into what the older players, that have commented on this post, have become. I wish to break that chain and break the general thought that it's not possible to play with someone a couple generations younger then you. Let the gaming community not let these subjective views based on general thoughts divide us. Yes the majority of young players are prone to the yelling and screaming and all the other issues but instead of leaving take a chance and try to help and support them. Be a leader and guide them, don't just leave them in the rain. These young guys are the future and the same will go on until time ends. You all say "I wasn't like that when I was young, I was a well mannered child" do you know why kids aren't like that anymore? Because most of their parents don't care to lead them and teach them the rights and wrongs. That's when it falls on us as a gaming community to rub off on these guys and let them know that they are part of a family that spans across the entire WORLD. The next time you are about to leave because you can't take it anymore just say one nice thing to them such as "have a great day!" Or " it was nice playing with you" it doesn't matter if they are bad or yell stupid things or swear. Be kind and nudge them a little in the right direction. You aren't the only person they play with during the day they probably go through HUNDREDS of people and they all do the same thing but just imagine if all of them just added a little kindness and guidance. A changed life. Good luck my fellow guardians. Young or old when the darkness comes I will stand by you and protect the light.

Ok here's a few reasons I dislike playing with people younger than around 18 (I've met a few 15/16 y/o's that are good to play with tbf). 1. I've generally found that older players, not only on Destiny, have a higher skill level and are much less prone to repeating the same mistakes. 2. The screaming/raging. Oh my word that is annoying. Joining a game where someone dies and goes absolutely ape s*** at the game is one of them most infuriating things about gaming in general. Just chill. 3. The racist/homophobic tendencies you see in kids is unbelievable. The amount of times I hear someone call another person n***** or f***** or something along those lines is unreal. 4. General inability/unwillingness to listen. Tried to do a few raids with kids who hadn't done it before, generally they'll do their own thing and just ignore what you say. I say: Let me take the relic. They instantly pick it up, die then we restart, I try to explain to them how to use it so they know for future reference they ignore me and do whatever. You get the gist. I could give a lot more reasons but I've realised I've rambled on for far too long. So yeah, a few reasons there. EDIT: I realise it hasn't bleeped out my swears so I've done it for you.
