I'm stuck at light 275, i have no idea how to go further.
How can everyone else have so much light? Got any tip how to earn good gear fast?

My Titan on my 2nd account went from 168 to 285 today. I decrypt one engram at a time. If better, I equip the new piece, then decrypt another. That way I'm always resetting the loot table to my new light level. Is it time consuming? Yes, but overall much faster to the goal of leveling up light stats.

Do 36 strikes and court of Oryx. Over and over and over. Also when you decrypt engrans do it one at a time, see if it's higher light and if so equip it before you decrypt another engram and don't do the same slot engram twice if you can help it. As in, dont decrypt a glove engram and then another glove engram. I know it sounds weird but it works for me and I've not done the raid and I am 295. Also do the quests. All of them. You get lots of stuff, rep, and legendary marks that can buy but exotics to infuse to at least 280.

Don't get to attached to your legendaries because rarity isn't everything and infusing will just take longer unless it's a very terrible gun then I'd say infuse that crap outta mah house! But yeah do heroic strikes, the more strikes you do the chanxe of legendaries are increases each time. Daily heroics give you lots of blue engrams plus there is a small chance the daily heroic will have a secret exotic mission. Do your quests and you'll be there in no time :D

1 ReplySame here. No matter what I do I get gear with the same or lower light than I already had. Did the Agonarch fight last night and got 3 legendary (2 were Sublime) engrams and all were lower light. Ran a few strikes and handed in 9 engrams...all lower light. Just have to keep at it I guess.

Buy some exotics from xur and infuse them into gear you have and like. Buy some 280 gear from factions and infuse. Run heroic strikes and don't leave after the first one as they multiply rewards the longer you play. When decrypting, decrypt one engram then equip it if it's higher light than what you currently have in that slot then decrpyt the next one and equip it if it's higher light. Run all the quests that reward you with legendary engrams and marks as rewards. When decrypting engrams make sure to equip the highest light level of what you own in each slot before decrypting engrams. The grind from 290-300 is rough.

Horde engrams. Decrypt, equip, repeat. You'll see the light level slowly rising. Once you get to about 295 or so, try to get the raid done. Even if you cannot beat oryx right away, do upto the sisters across all characters and use the duplicates for infusion.

Yeah I've gotten all my 290 plus drops from the court of oryx or heroics.. they are obviously more rare but they do drop.

I'd recommend you buy some 280 legendary boots from either the vanguard or crucible. Apart from that; make sure decoding engrams do them one by one, so decode a chest engram, press start, and check if it's better than your current one. If it is, equip it and then repeat with all your engrams. Why you should do this? Bungie have made the TTK so that the higher your light level, the better gear you get from engrams! Heroic Playlist. When turning in engrams do it one at a time. If the decrypted item is a high atk value equip it before your next decryption.. That being said rare armour can get you up to 299. I'd save your legendary marks til later unless you absolutely love an item you have. If you can get some people to run Court of Oryx with you at tier 3 you'll get some very awesome rare gear. Just make sure your the one using the rune. Remember infusing your Rares into legendary stuff only gives you 80 percent of the atk value unless it's only 5 atk values away. If that's the case it would be 100 percent. Hope this helps.

The more strikes you do the more negrams youll find. Just dont go to orbit, fire up a heroic playlist and grind untill your eyes melt Then go decode what you got, sleep, repeat.

You don't really need different gear. Infuse. Find some armor and wepons that you really like and infuse.

Save you legendary engrams and blue engrams. Then decrypt one at a time. Check to see if the weapon or armor piece is stronger then what you have on. If so equip it before opening another engram. And keep doing this. Leave the legendarys til the end. Engram level depends on what your light level is. So the higher your light the better chance of getting something better. I did this on my warlock right when I got him to level 40. I had saved engrams from other characters and gave them to the warlock. Got her up to 287 in a matter of a min or so. Hope this helps.
