I have a charged Agonarch rune
Can I use it solo, and if I die trying, is it lost or can I retry later?

It's easy. I soloed it last night. Just take it slow and watch your back.

Also on a side note while helping someone complete this fight my agonarch rune went from 3/7 to completed so the yellow bar named enemies in this fight seem to break the 1 a day rule on charging the rune. Also I don't think there is a time limit on the fight but I'm not sure, it wasn't hard with three of us but alone it might be a challenge. After starting it you keep the rune until the end when you open the chest that spawns after the fight so likely you will keep it if you fail. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LdIx2jmMKk

Edited by Markus Dominicus: 9/25/2015 4:52:46 PMI did it solo. It was a bit hard, but there is no time limit. I suggest a either making sure to take out the Knights or be have a 2 man fireteam. I died like 1 or 2 times and the event kept going until I killed the big boss. I ran nightstalker.

It's very easy to beat. I solo'd it yesterday. You get a fragment, mouldering shard, legendary engram and I think I got a couple of blues too. It's not hard at all.

See if any of your friends need to charge theirs, as they can piggy back on your and charge their uncharged rune by killing the 7 majors that spawn from it

Super easy, nothing really spawns around the centre platform in the founts just chill there and do damage over time.
