Is there anything that can replace the beauty that was MIDA?

Yes, The saterinne rapier. A year one legendary that had better stats, and higher stopping power. On top of explosive rounds and firefly.

What's your point the rapier was a poor mans fatebringer in PVE and not as good as MIDA in pvp.

Mida wasn't even that good. If you compare the saterinne rapier to it it had lower stats and didn't even have the huge benefits of firefly.

They're not even the same archetype. Different impact and rate of fire. I had both. Saterienne rapier was great in pve but crap in pvp. Mida was hands down the best scout in pvp. It's not even debatable.

Actually I played both in Crucible. If you paid any attention how players would act once they couldn't see through the explosive cloud it WAS highly debatible. Why do you think they nerfed the heck out of it. Twice.

I was paying attention and I noticed MIDA sending three down range before most players could react, let alone any explosive clouds.

I mostly played pvp. MIDA was pretty bad PVE wise I'll admit. But MIDA fired fast and forced the opposing player to flinch constantly, had a pretty average kill time, and paired with dance machines made you a mobile God
