Except for the somewhat "meaningless" merchandise like key chains and a not-so-interesting board game, I think Microsoft and its internal team have maintained the Halo brand's worth. They haven't made Halo Kart, or Lego Halo as people often joke about, so they haven't milked the cow just yet. And I'm not so sure that they will.

Halo: Fall of Reach is an epic book. If a game was to be made that chronicled the events leading up to CE, i would hope they would stick to the story line of the book. Whether Bungie is in development on a new Halo game is up for nothing other than speculation and debate at this point. Bungie has always maintained that they are finished with the Halo series after ODST, but things have been known to change in this crazy world of ours. One thing you can count on though, is MS will whore out the Halo series for as long as they can and for all it's worth.

Well, Bungie did say that there wouldn't be another Halo in the Trilogy, but I mean, Halo 3: ODST isn't after Halo 3, and if they can do that, then they can do something post Halo Wars.
