The daily heroic for the black spindle is probably the single most difficult thing I've ever had to do for destiny. We spent hours on it and eventually gave up.
Anyone reading this will probably think i suck. I'm not an amazing destiny player by any means but here are a list of hard things I've done that were easier than the black spindle mission:
Beat oryx the 2nd day it was released
2 man the crota raid
Solo numerous nightfalls
Went flawless in trials
My fireteam's light levels were 297, 300, and 301.
The dumb part is I have a friend who is a lower light level than me, gave up on the kings fall raid, has a .6 crucible k/d, and only 100 hours in destiny got black spindle on his first try. And I know the friends he played with could not have been better than mine.

I ended up trying shield brothers on the heroic play list. As someone who is just brushing 262 light (loadout dependent) couldn't defeat the final round of the shield brothers

2 RepliesGot it first try and there were only 2 of us. Wasn't difficult at all. Your just not as good at the game as some of us. Not trying to be rude or mean but that's the truth. It's ok though. ..

2 RepliesHonestly it's not that you suck it's probably how you were going about it. I didn't get it either BUT we didnt have a Titan. We were two nightstalkers and a self Rez warlock. If we were all 300 and had beastly weapons no prob but it was taking so long for us to kill the ads. I had a void 1000 yard stare that was doing well but my teammates weapons were trash and really besides my sniper mine were trash as well. You really need a defender Titan and some strong weapons. When that daily comes back I'll be ready mark my words.

Edited by UltraCon79: 9/24/2015 7:49:38 PMI have .5 KD was 290 and I got it first try. BTW Crucible is harder than a daily. All 3 void hunters only 1 sword.

2 RepliesAfter reading the discovery at work I basically raced online when I got home, jumped Into the mission and told my regular clan members to jump in if they wanted it. We cleared it first time. In about 8 minutes. It was a good fight, same as the exotic sword challenge, shot gunning the brothers, the raid etc - but in no way unbeatable. We had a defender Titan with blessing which was set up behind cover in the left side of the final room which kept us pretty much safe from his blinding blasts. Other than that you've just gotta use cover, pick your spots and take out any blights ASAP. Swords will absolutely shred those pesky captains and wizards - which can also be teamshot. Night stalker bow helps with the boss due to having DPS windows between add waves. Raid weapons all have bonus damage on taken enemies which works well.

3 RepliesIf I buy a black spindle (300 atk) from my collection and infuse it with a raid weapon (309 atk) will it go down 20 atk when it's fixed?
-
It's easy the quickest way to do it is take out the blights while you're on your way to taniks and prioritise wizards and captains over everything else, try and get people with mics and combine your supers on the boss while he's tied by the hunter the others can make like a 50,000 damage difference just by using them at the same time, try and do as much dot as possible and you'll piss through it
-
wait until you have better weapons and give it a go next time it pops up might be a while, like a gajallarhorn
-
Couldn't finish it, guess I suck and should just quit Destiny, since now no one will even let me into their raid group without the sniper. Thanks Bungie for killing Gjallarhon, just to bring another Gjallarhorn into the mix.

2 RepliesEdited by l Ellz l: 9/24/2015 8:36:54 AMLots of people in this thread that think they are good because they did it but here's the lowdown: The higher your light level combination is, the harder the mission. I solo'd the boss on my own first time but didn't have enough time to clear adds. Second time I went in with 3 people, one of us was 287 light. It was hard. Much harder then when i was solo. However we got it on the second try. Went in to help others a third time and we were all 295+ light. It was insane. Adds non stop spawning, 1 hit would take 2/3rds of my health. It was chaos. But we did it. If you solo'd it, well done you did it at the normal difficulty. Now if you went in as 2 people, well done you had to do it at 1.5 x difficulty. If you went in as 3 people, very well done, you did it at 2 x's or even 3 x's the difficulty depending on your light level combination. The higher the difficulty, the faster the adds spawn, more damage and more resistance they have.

I did it twice
-
Exotic sword destroys adds and the boss that R2/RT attract is OP most adds go down in one hit and you can rip his health down with it.
-
Kill the boss followed by the taken spawn spheres then the adds easy method did it a few times with that method
-
First try with about a min to spare
-
4 RepliesJust got it on my second try!!!! Light level was 289 at the time just proves that light level don't mean much tbh
-
Solar shotguns, arc shotguns, weapons of light, rockets. Swords work well also but then you need blessings instead of weapons.
-
It's all about team work. Clear the first two rooms in 90 seconds or so then hit the final room focused on minion management.
-
Did it with two nights talkers and a storm caller. We used the swords to clear the knights and cabal. Knew the rotation of blights. Adds, dps boss, rinse and repeat. Tether and slash through enemies spawn so much orbs. This strike is very dependent on clearing adds. You do that and you'll clear this.

3 RepliesI'm not going to say you suck but you must definitely be doing something wrong. Cause with those light levels you can definitely finish this mission. It all comes down to strategy and execution and I tiny bit of luck. Sometimes he cooperates and stay still long enough to pump a whole sniper mag in. You guys can definitely do it. Try using the swords to clear the rooms before the boss fight. That'll save you some time. Have someone kill ads and 2 focus on boss. You NEED to destroy as much blight balls as you can in the last room. Also use your supers. I don't want to type a play-by-play strat here though. Most important thing I can say is focus firing specific heavy ads is important. Also for my team and I, swords were the game changer. We were in the last room with about 6:50mins left. We just cleaned up from there. Done with 294* 294* & 293* Hard but not impossible. Strategy is key.

1 ReplyNo I don't blame you, we needed two sunsingers and all three exotic swords
-
I tried for 8 hours straight.. today's my day off work.. then I got in a game, we got to the boss, one guy left. We had 7:30 on the clock. So, we decided to try it. I laid into the boss while he killed adds and blights. Blights first. The boss died. I killed adds and blights. And boom. We 2 manned it with 30 seconds on the clock. It's not too bad, believe me. You just need a good strat.
-
2 RepliesI gave up after about 12-14 tries...

5 RepliesEdited by Level_Unknown: 9/24/2015 3:48:30 AMYou must just suck. Sorry, not trying to be mean or anything. But with those light levels it shouldn't have been a problem. Or your teammates do.
