2 RepliesThe mission is less about "Skill" and more about having a fireteam when you get right down to It.

Edited by bubbleboycb: 6/9/2016 3:47:20 PMOk So I finally got the BS. I got some assistance from someone on LFG and here is what I noticed. The strategy was basically exactly the same as what me and my friends were doing however the dealbreaker was in the last room. This guy ran to the back of the room and handled the blights at the back while we took out the others and he was able to keep himself alive in the back of the room exceptionally well. Deaths cost each team member 20 seconds of play time and it really adds up when you notice that adds are still there. So, what I am saying is kill the blights, adds then DPS boss - rinse and repeat but very importantly - STAY ALIVE.

I tried it last night with all 3 of us at 320 and we had about 6 minutes for the last room. We were absolutely -blam!- in that room. The variety of shields on the yellows and number of ads make this just ridiculous. We took down the blights first and focused on the ads next and by the time we were calling for DPS on the boss we had only about 3 mins left . We also tried a bubble strat on the boss with swords and failed miserably on that as well. I have officially thrown in the towel on this.

Tried tonight with 2x310 and 1x317...not a chance. What a joke of a mission, I like a challenge but this was just a waste of an evening. Everyone was left frustrated so decided to do a POE to calm down and due to the awesome loot system we got nothing of worth so another waste of time. One guy who has the spindle jumped in to help and commented that it was never that difficult before when he's helped other people out and when he got his. OP ads everywhere, even the blights take a full magazine from a 317 hung jury...really!!! Just watch the YouTube videos of people doing this when it first came out. Their weapons melt the ads and they get plenty of time to focus on the boss...not anymore. No ammunition anywhere, bullet sponge ads around, boss with huge health. By the time you make a dent in the ads the blights are back and you haven't even been able to fire a round at the boss...mainly because he's hiding at the back of the pillar but soon you're overwhelmed and constantly dying, can't even look at a blight without getting wiped out and all in 5 minutes. Maybe being able to restart at the top of the lift would make things easier and less frustrating but having to put another 10-15 minutes into just getting there to be annihilated for five minutes...no thanks, you can keep your gun. This mentality and the terrible RNG I get reminds me of why I stopped playing destiny in the first place. The group are all year 1 players and it was great to get everyone back after the update. Everyone was buzzing yesterday about being back, not so much after tonight. 5 attempts at something that we were expecting to be a challenge but this was far from that. It was like doing Crota on hard mode using level 28 guardians...possible but extremely unlikely. The only way to make it to the final room in time was to sword the whole thing then hope your team isn't down too long. At one point we got close to getting the boss down but the room was absolutely full of high level ads so it was never going to happen in the allocated time. So the night started off exciting and in great spirits, ended up totally sick of the game again, even the chat party was silent...that's not what a game is about!!! It should be fun, interesting and challenging but have an end in sight. It's as if you guys just think how hard and ridiculous you can make this because it's all the more rewarding for the player...that's not true. Even if we had of gotten it at the end of attempt 5 I'd still be writing this because it wasn't fun, entertaining or enjoyable at all, it was frustrating, pointless and insulting. The more I play Destiny again it really reminds me why I stopped as the more I realise bungie are like storemen in the military when it comes to exotics and unique items...stores are for storing, not for issuing to the guys that deserve it. That's how most of these exotic quests are. If you're not being forced into the crucible then you're being made to run around like a fool and work your arse off to the point where you have to wonder when the game began to feel more like a major chore than actually being a fun game that you paid money to play.

3 RepliesI have to agree with how crazy hard this is. I tried it today with three different groups and it's just so crazy hard, we NEVER were successful. And I totally agree about NOT having it a daily on a week day. But increase the time would help. All that time and effort invested in trying to obtain the Black Spindle and another disappointing end. Thanks for listening.

1 ReplyEdited by crazeeavery: 3/7/2016 2:14:47 AMI see alot of people on here saying it's not worth it. Its to hard and takes to long? It took me at light Level 304 and to random people 15 minutes..
-
This mission is absolutely ridiculous. We keep killing the boss with plenty of time left, but being required to kill all the dumb adds is just stupid. Having thousands of bullshit enemies in the way isn't fun or challenging, it's lazy design and doesn't make for an interesting challenge at all.
-
I have no need for the spindle as my no time to explain is better than those retards thinking that malice and spindle are the only ones worth a fudge

I have spent many hours and countless times, with teams anywhere form 318 to 303. Have noticed that some missions are WAY harder sometimes that others.EVERYONE that I bring in there says one of two things.... If they have it,after 4,5,6,runs "I don't remember it being this hard"... If they don't have it "This is just not worth it"... I still do not have it..I have all 3 characters between 306 and 308.Every different configuration I could muster brought to bear, many strategy discussions and implementations. I still do not have it... My handle is incontrovertable... If some high level players "Not being bias or holier than thou, just not going to waste any more time on it" Could possibly assist me the next day its up,I would highly appreciate it.. PS3 Platform Thank you

Edited by Rush: 12/14/2015 12:03:35 AMToday is Black Spindle time again, but yeah, without a team (and one that knows what's what) the mission can be really unforgiving.

1 ReplyPlease help me. I have tried more times than I can count and fail, fail, and fail again. I'm on xbox360 and just can't do it. Help
-
Two things: 1: The event needs to fall on a weekend. Weekdays are simply too problematic. Even if every 2nd or 3rd return was weekend, it would still be an improvement. 2: It's the timer - if you miss a single add it'll get you, so either getting the boss should be sufficient, or, the adds should have to follow you so you don't have to search nooks and crannies for them. One stupid little add hiding behind an object in the first room is enough to ruin it. Either that, or give us another minute or two.
-
I haven't even tried to get it because it requires a team. My friends quit playing this when How came out.

4 RepliesEdited by ScreenScoper: 11/3/2015 9:35:31 PMWhy don't you have the sensible option in your poll of, "challenging, but attainable" where I think a lot of players would end up choosing. A very tiny portion of players actually think it's cake and can solo the mission. What's with all these polls being overly extreme. It's falsely represents the opinions of the community, and discourages people from even voting on your poll. I certainly won't be.
-
It was too impossible for me with a bad team, and too easy with a good team A team Titans with blessing of light bubbles and swords can kill the boss easily as long as everyone is good at knowing when to stop attacking retreat to get health then continue attacking Also you need to be able to quickly yet carefully clear out the rooms
-
Tried with two different teams last night....almost got it. But honestly, I've beaten the raid a few times and got the Touch of Malice, both weren't nearly as hard as this is... it's not the mission objective that is hard, it's the amount of time given to complete it. On our last try last night we failed killing the last last ad in the room as the clock reached 0 seconds.. it was heart breaking.
-
2 RepliesI do agree with this. I feel this secret mission is a little out of hand. I have taken out the boss and I had 4 and a half minutes to take out the ads. Still couldn't pull it off. I've tried over and over and now I can't even kill the boss. This secret mission is like trying to get 9-0 in ToO. I'm getting a little upset that Bungie keeps putting out things that can only be achieved by the "Best of the Best". I feel like I'm getting excluded from all the features of the game I paid for.

Finally in the spindle squad

8 RepliesI spent 4 hours with 4 different fire teams. I still haven't gotten the black spindle. We were all 300 light. Bungie this is bullshit
-
Beat it for the first time on my 300 Hunter. Other players in the game was at 305 and 297. We got to the boss room with 7 minutes left, killed the boss with 3.26 minutes left and beat the activity with 1.56 minutes left. I will not lie though, it was hard for me when I tried it around 280 light.
-
It's not that hard I got mine on the first try with 2 random guys from the forum, the next week the mission was out got it for a friend we probably failed about 6-7 times before we won The trick is getting to the boss fast then 2 people stay in the right doorway focus on the boss third guy goes out the left door destroy all blights and kill adds takes effort for sure but not that bad
-
Can't solo...but I've done it like 5 times. Yet to beat the raid though...somehow. it's just too hard to scrape up a decent team sometimes...
-
It's by far worth it. It's a very simple quest when you do it right and have skill. This rifle at high light level puts in work on warpriest and golgoroth. I go through 23 rounds without ever reloading if you have a team of guys with spindles the first half of the hard raid is a breeze

8 RepliesEdited by Bowaline: 11/3/2015 5:09:25 AMI've beaten the raid, finished the chaperone ToM and first curse exotic bounties(waiting on arms day for FC) and I still have yet to get this weapon, my view is that it's not worth the time investment anymore.

Did it again first try with my buddy who is new to the game and needed one. I like this mission it's fun.
