Ive had monte carlo since last september i promise it is a year one It wasnt on xbox til now but.everyone got an exotic day one of ttk and they were year one weapons That explains your situation

It is a year one exotic, not sure if you were aware but it use to be a playstation exclusive weapon for the last year.

It's not shafting you. Now that you have the blueprint you can go to the exotic weapon kiosk and grab the year two version for a pinch of glimmer and an exotic shard. You can trash the old one to get the shard, too.
