Technically speaking you won't be traveling at the speed of light. You'll be bending space around the ship to the point where you literally jump from one point to another. Even at the speed of light you're still not going fast enough to travel around a galaxy.

Which will take an infinite amount of energy. Which works for the hive, since they've broken the bekenstein limit, and the vex, who have access to all the energy to every have existed from the past and the future, but not for us.
