Your thoughts on how you can't upgrade your old gear.
I really loved my old stuff, I really hope destiny fixes this, because in my personal opinion the new stuff isn't good. Don't they understand the nostalgia and love for the weapons you put months of time and effort in perfecting? Shouldn't there be a choice of what you equip? I don't think you should be forced to wear the new stuff to level up. I can't even wear my favorite titan mark since it is year one. What about the raid weapons? You know how hard it is to get vex mythoclast and necrochasm? With this, now those are obsolete.What about the new players that just completed that raid? They get excited to see that they got a raid exotic just to find out it is now worthless, so how is that fun? Some of the exotics are in blueprints but you need to get an entirely new copy of that exotic and upgrade it, they are basically resetting everyone's progress. They are punishing all those who played from the beginning to do it over again. I don't know about you but I have spent months perfecting my old gear, and I can't just watch all this time and progress go to waste. Please if there is anyone who agrees then don't just idly sit there. All I can do is hope that they see how wrong this is and they do something about it. What I am basically saying is we need a way to upgrade our old gear to be on the level as everything else. This is much better than having to switch to something else just because it has better defense or damage, like for a really great hand cannon or shotgun with great stats, we should be able to upgrade it not just find a better one. What they are doing is restricting what we can and can't have by forcing year one to stay in year one. When they added etheric light to destiny I was so thrilled to be able to make all the weapons I loved do the new max damage. With this idea destiny was on the right track but now all of the great gear is no longer able to be used. I think that for the player's choice they should be able to have their old armor on the same level as everything else. How many of you are okay with giving up a weapon with great stats just for the extra damage when it would be so much better to have the option to upgrade it?

Edited by seraphic_thunder: 11/8/2015 1:52:29 AMIf they won't let us upgrade what we have, then they need to at least allow ALL of the year 1 gear to drop (including IB, Raid, Trials, and Vanguard strike gear) with TTK stats. Put them on a rotation with the vendors and strike rewards again. They should also introduce year 1 Ghost shells since they're a thing now. Don't like seeing the exact same green and blue shells that Shaxx sells? How about a Dark Below blue and red shell? Or a Vanilla bronze color? How about a Trials, Queens Wrath, or POE shell? Revamp the old raid and put the strike into rotation with strike gear. [spoiler]Valus Ta'aurc minigun please[/spoiler] There is so much they can do but I honestly doubt they will do it.

Man would it feel good to walk into a at least semi hard fight with a fate bringer and walk away victorious. The only thing is, imagine if we could bring those thing with us the whole game? That's all we would use :( fate bringer, Ice breaker and hunger of crota would be so nice to just rock through everything again, but then again, would it be to easy? Using the same thing the entire time would also get very plain and repetitive after all the work bungie has (at least tried to) put into all the new guns and perks, they probably just wanted players to feel like their levelling up again. Honestly, I think it was for the best they didn't bring everything back, but man do I wish they did :/ Sorry this was so long xD hope you guys see another perspective on the problem we all most likely have with this game Peace!

[/quote] I agree with you on being able to equip some of your older stuff. I've got a Mantle Of Gellion (pretty sure I spelled that wrong) cloak for my Hunter that I've had since the 2nd or 3rd (can't remember) time the Iron Banner came round in Y1. Can't equip that without my light dropping a lot because the light level on it is 30 for some reason. My brother who also plays has the Queen's mark from the Queen's Wrath event in Y1, and also (believe it or not) the Vanguard Auto Rife "Doctor Nope".

5 RepliesThis is Bungie's thoughts on creating "diversity" in the gear we use: "Lets create diversity in the gear people use by making all year 1 gear obsolete or unusable so only year 2 gear is usable!" Each of these DLC's they have released should have given us more diversity and variety of gear we can use. INSTEAD, each DLC makes the gear obtained in the previous content obsolete, and this DLC (TTK) makes all previous gear unusable PERIOD. Bungie, get it through your head: MORE VIABLE GEAR = MORE OPTIONS = MORE DIVERSITY. Let us ascend Year 1 Gear.

I stopped caring. There isn't much from the old game that I'm dying to bring forward, to be honest -- I've found stuff to replace it.

I would like my raid sets to be able to be carried over. I don't mind the new Titan raid set but still I enjoy looking like a Vex from time to time. I don't get bored wearing the same sets, If I get a new gun and like it, Ill switch to it. But forcing us to either use these new lackluster guns or stay behind with what we enjoy is a bad call IMO. But what can I do? my 100 bucks is a drop in the bucket compared to the millions Bungievision is swimming in. Not like they will care

I would get bored and irritated fast using the same weapons from year 1 but there's not much to be desired in year 2 so...

3 RepliesI would suggest only bringing 1 primary, 1 special, and 1 heavy LEGENDARY weapon only to Year 2 and 1 helmet, 1 chest, 1 gauntlet, and 1 leg LEGENDARY armor only to Year 2 levels per account. By doing this, it would force us to pick and choose which best combo suits us best for our primary character. Then there would be a diverse amount of characters playing how they want to. Just a suggestion.

We aren't supposed to enjoy items in destiny. We are supposed to NEED something with a higher light level constantly. It's like being in a roller coaster (a fun experience), and the person next to you hurling the whole way (ruined experience).

Yep. I can't wear any if my favourite marks or cloaks. I've given up on this game. These people are completely nuts to think we don't want options that differ to EVERYONE else.

1 ReplyI would like to level up my VOG/Crota gear like Robe of the Hezen Lords, VOC, Unyielding Casque and Word of Crota (good void primary). They should have some way to do this.
