In one of the first levels you have to find a "warp drive" that allows you to travel to other outposts faster than light. It's science fiction.
Also, kinda lazy that they didn't stray from the Star Trek term.

Edited by OJ191: 9/22/2015 3:02:21 PMStar trek may have popularised the idea but in fact it's a very literal and sensible term - warp drives usually function via some form of space warping to circumvent normal light speed limitations saying it's "kinda lazy that they didn't stray from the star trek term" is basically comparable to saying "kinda lazy that they didn't stray from the english language when they formed the united states of america"

Touché. I meant lazy as in they didn't go to any great lengths to enrich the lore by calling their version of the warp drive anything different (ie the Shaw Fujikawa drive in Halo). Try could have called it the Trans-light drive or something. Just my opinion though.

Edited by OJ191: 9/22/2015 3:30:13 PMa warp drive is a warp drive is a warp drive. Could care less if they give it a special name, in fact it makes more sense in this universe that it is named after basic principles rather than an inventor or company or whatever, because most of the knowledge of the golden age (likely when it was invented) has been lost. They [re]discovered this tech, it warps space, ta da warp drive

Fair enough, to each their own.
